Different companies use different formulas to rate each person. They all basically have the same factors, but the factors have different weight. For instance, if you have really good credit some of the online focused companies like Geico and Progressive may be better. However multiline discounts can really stack if you also have houses and cars and boats.

So my answer is: if you are savvy look cross shop online. If you are feeling flustered by the process look at an independant agent who sells at least 5 major company lines.

I'm a former insurance agent. This is the only reply that is useful to you. What other people are paying is useless.

You're 18 and you have 3 tickets (only count the ones that were PAID not thrown out), your insurance is gonna be expensive, thats the beginning and end of it. IMO get a cheap car, the Camaro is gonna cost you more especially because you will need comprehensive and collision on it.
