squared wheel setups *need suggestions
I recently got my 2011 camaro SS back up and running and I plan to do a little bit of road course in the future. As the title suggests I’m looking for recommendations on a squared wheel setup.
I want to go with lightweight 19’s or 20’s and would like to know what width and offset some of you guys are running. Pictures would be great** It’s currently on 1 inch lowering springs (will most likely go coilovers). Budget friendly options are welcome. |

I recently changed my wheels and tires to a square setup for autocross. I run 18 x 9.5 all the way around with 285/40's. I was looking to get lighter and have the ability to rotate tires. I'm happy with the results other than the wheel gap but that will change when I get my lowering springs installed.

Nice, what wheels did you go with and what offset? I haven’t really considered 18’s, I’m afraid it’ll be too low to drive with these springs.

20x10 +35 with 275/40r20 square fit well with no issues with a 1” drop. I’m sure 285/35r20 would fit too. Haven’t run any auto cross yet.

Love those black rims SSammy, along with the striping.

I went with Curva C300. I think they are +35 offset. I had to run a 5mm spacer up front and adjust the Ebrake cable slightly in the rear but no other problems. |

The wheel fitment is nice. I was looking at 10.5 all around but the offset goes up to 40. I wonder if that will fit upfront without needing a spacers or having any poke. |

I am running apex 19x10.5 inch wheel with 305/30 tires for road course. I wanted as much front tire as possible. My car already has 1.25 lowering springs. It sits ***low*** with track wheels on. It is whole different look with those wheels on. I want to say there is only about 2 inches clearance ground to frame rail but I dont recall. I did dent up long tube header with an off track excursion.

If my morning math is correct, it would place the inner edge of your new wheel 11.35mm (0.447”) closer to the strut, while putting the outer edge of the wheel 1.35mm (0.053”) further out. I think you’d need to run a small spacer, maybe 10-12mm, at least on the front, due to strut clearance. I couldn’t get a measurement, but I have approx 1/4”-3/8” of clearance between my wheel and strut now, running 1.6* camber on the fronts. The rear would be just fine, plenty of room. I’m guessing a 10.5” wide wheel with 25-30mm offset would fit nice all around. Hopefully someone chimes in that has tried it, or corrects me if I’m mistaken.
