Aftermarket 3rd brake light replacement?
So my 3rd brake light went out on my 2013, I did a lot of research on replacement and apparently apparently I need to take out everything inside the car in order to replace it, so I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket 3rd brake light which is an LED strip and I'm thinking of installing it on my wickerbill since the oem wasn't visible to the drivers behind me anyway.
So is there a way to access the 3rd brake light cable so I can make a line between it and the new brake light to the spoiler? P.s I live in a 100+ degrees city so a DIY is out of the picture, plus the dealer asked $1900 on replacing it. |

I bought a Zl1 style spoiler with integrated LED on flea bay for 150 bucks or so.

To get to the 3rd brake light wire harness (it’s behind the passenger side rear window near the seat belt retractor ) requires you removing a bunch of passengers side interior panels and the rear seat although you don’t have to take the seat out of the car. It’s a fairly EZ job. I did it in around 30-45 mins when I installed a 3rd brake light flasher module.

I think just layed the back seat down and muscled my way up to were the 3rd brake light is and cut and pasted a couple wires. I can’t remember I had to hustle through it because I needed to get my car inspected
