In '06 I owned a 350Z. I traded that in for a Honda Accord Coupe with the 4 cyl. I sold that yesterday and will be driving my 2SS in 2 weeks if that damned train ever gets here. I drove the 6 cyl Camaro and was amazed how fast it was - about as quick as my Z, but I bought the 2SS anyway. My point is I'll drive anything. The people who got the same basic car I got for 20K less are the one's who scored. But I have to ask this question...why are so many people qualifying the original posters thread by feeding the fire? He's a young guy who is being too sensitive. He'll grow out of it. But why all the drama? Are there really people out there who actually care what others think of their choice on this one?
And to set the cop car rumor straight...the best police interceptor was the 2006 Chevy Caprice with the first gen LS - 8 cyl. That car hauled ass. Nobody wanted to drive the left-over Ford Crown Vics - they were total dogs for 8 cyl's. Furthermore, most of the new Dodge Charger police units you see running around are the eco-correct 6 cyl units. All the motors listed above were not the standard issue engines available to public.

I own the 1Lt and 2SS I also have a Buick Grand National. And I can say from personal experience the only true v6 american muscle car is the Buick GN. The v6 Camaro does not compare. The 2SS on the other hand is a kick a** car. I don't understand why anyone would feel compelled to defened why they bought the v6. If you want a beautiful fun car and save some money at the same time then buy the v6. And that should be the end of it. Enough of this penis envy.

It's not your car... It's people who think you need to do the things that please THEM. I've gotten lots of the "why did you do this?" or "why did you do that?" My lastest was "Why did you get yellow?"

![]() ![]() I have already made up my mind that I will own a V6 also. I want to use it to get my son interested in cars. There will be such a huge aftermarket that we will be able to spend lots of time in the garage turning a wrench. And if he decides he wants to drive a Honda after all that then there is always my daughter!

I opted for a V6 for a few reasons:
(1) Price (2) Gas mileage (3) Luxury If I buy a car for 0-60 times, I would buy it like my first pony car: 78 Pontiac Trans Am with no decals, no radio, manual transmission, no options except the fastest motor (TA/6.6 Liter 220HP - with factory chrome valve covers). I then put on headers, glass packs, removed catalytic converters, disabled air pollution crap, replaced carb with Holley 750cfm double-pumper, replaced wheels and tires with 7X15 Crager Super Sports on front 10x15 Crager SS on back, traction bars, and air shocks on rear. That car would nearly lift the front tires off the ground. I was 17 at the time... Edit: I think this 2010 LT2/RS may even be quicker... Last edited by bi11ymc; 10-30-2009 at 09:35 AM. |

A Camaro is a Camaro. They are beautiful cars and a joy to own and drive. The mature see that and know that. There's no value whatsoever in bashing someone or mocking them just because they have one with different performance specs than you do. Life is too short to waste it on such childishness. Spend time enjoying life, enjoying the fact that you are able to have a Camaro regardless of the type of engine.
Camaros are such fun cars. And Aby is such a fun person to know. You're a fool if you bash either.

Everyone needs to chill or I can start handing out infractions. Keep comments and posts respectful or don't post. Not following our community rules will result in Administrative action. This is no place for bickering at one another about Camaro.
