Stock whipple tune.

So from everything I've read about the stock whipple tune is that It should be sufficient enough for me to start my car and be able to drive it to the shop that will do my custom tune for me since I'm already modded.

Already have a roto fab cold air kit, LT headers and custom exhaust with no cats. The issue I'm running into is that my car will hang at 1k rpm for about 20 to 30 seconds then drop down to about 800 rpm at idle. When I test drove it around the block the car wanted to accelerate slowly without me even touching the gas?? Don't feel safe trying to drive this anywhere like this. Does this sound like a tunning issue since I'm modded. If not I'm not sure what else could be causing this. I did check for codes also and the only thing showing is lean bank 1 and bank 2. Don't know if this has anything to do with it also somehow??

I also checked to see if perhaps the throttle body was sticking by removing the intake tube, turned the car to the on position ( not actually starting it ) and had a buddy push the gas pedal while I watched the butterfly valve inside the throttle body open and close just fine. So it appears it is not sticking but to me the car is acting like it is.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Check for a vacuum leak.

Thanks for the reply.. I Forgot to mention this above. I did check for vacuum leaks by spraying some carb cleaner around the throttle body, intake tube and the Whipple lower intake manifold and didn't notice any leaks.

Can your tuner email you a base tune to get you to the Dyno?

I would think if it was a vacuum leak, the idle wouldn't return to a semi-normal 800rpm. You might try a throttle body relearn procedure.

When I put my 103mm on before the tune was adjusted for it, it was almost like having the cruise control always on. The car would accelerate 'slightly' on it's own.

Keep us posted.

I can try the throttle relearn procedure. The other day I did get my tuner to come out and check things and make some adjustments in the tune. However he wasn't able to get the rpm throttle issue resolved. He said that it could be I may need a new throttle body. One like the Nick Willams boosted one? Does this sound right? Before I drop the money on one of these as they are expensive I want to exhaust all other possibilities.

Another thing I noticed today was when I ran a diagnostic with the car idling the LT fuel trims for both banks 1 and 2 were off from each other. Bank 1 was showing around 10% and Bank 2 was showing around 0.8 percent. Shouldn't both of these be about equal? I don't know if this might point me towards something that may help me resolve my issue. Dont know much about programming and looking at all these parameters but trying to learn.

Thanks.

If the throttle body was bad, you should have gotten a code for it. I ran the stock throttle body for several years. With PD blowers (Whipple, Magnuson, Kenne Bell, etc.), you don't need a throttle body rated for boost, as ours never have boost pressure applied directly to them, just vacuum.

Do you have HP Tuners by chance?
