I'm still not sure what having heavy insulation on one wall vs spending the same money on equal insulation everywhere will do. We don't have to deal with the same extremes as you do. You might discuss with your insulation contractor/supplier.

I assume you are painting a very light color?

That wall has the sun on most of the time and with the temps at 120+ that's the wall that needs the highest R value , that's why.
