Who's going to the 1st Annual Camaro5 fest from Chicagoland and/or Normal IL area!?
Hey guys,
Wondering who is going to the 1st Annual Camaro5 fest at the South Georgia Motorsports Park?

I am also wondering, who was planning on carpooling there and planned on camping at the track. I would REALLY like to go, and think it'd be AWESOME to get a big group to carpool/caravan there together! I am one of the unfortunate one's who will only be going as a spectator, since I don't have a Camaro, and won't anytime soon...HOWEVER, I am ABSOLUTELY in LOVE with it!!

Here is a link to the thread I started for those from the Chicagoland area that are going to coordinate something! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=1#post1112447

I LOVE GM vehicles, and particularly Chevy's, but would buy any GM vehicle if I had the $$...Hopefully, one day, soon enough, a 5th Gen CAMARO! Dave_O

Placed my phone order today with MTI for my helmet and I have to say they were very professional and friendly. Thanks Junkie for the recommendation.

I will definitely be checking with them when the time comes to start modifying the camaro.

Just make sure it is Snell SA2005 approved. That is the required helmet at most tracks
I just looked at my four wheeler helmet and it says snell DOT on it. I dont see anything about SA2005 though. I got the helmet in 2008 brand new. Is that ok?

I say that tongue in cheek of course. Here is a vid of my one and only time ever down the strip, in any car. I am looking forward to trying it in the camaro. I tried out the launch control last night and really liked it! You can see my piss poor launch here and how the charger jumps me off the line. He did beat me by 0.1 sec in the quarter all due to my poor start. I like how you can hear me catch rubber in second and third!

Cool! I will admit the Corvette would have run circles around the Camaro, at least it feels that way but I do like the Camaro way more! I was not overly impressed with anything about the corvette except the performance, which isnt that big of a deal to me. I am not much of a speeder. The SS is plenty for me. I didn't like the interior and the exterior was nice but too similar to the C5.

Anyhow, enough about that. I looked, my helmet is SNELL M2005. Is that the same as SA2005? My wifes is not snell. I guess she will have to use mine.
