Reverse scoop cover

Hey all, so with my recent supercharger install, I had to remove the inner portion reverse scoop as well as change the factory scoop to a carbon fiber one, which I prefer. This pretty much leaves the engine exposed due to the opening.

does anyone know of like a magnetic cover that goes over just the reverse scoop portion of the hood for when it’s parked to keep direct rain and other debris out of it?

Something to cover up the reverse scoop, boxed in yellow in the picture.

Idk if anyone makes anything like that or not, but wanted to see if maybe someone knew of some sort of cover for it.

Reverse scoop better known as a hood vent.

Well then.. lol. Not sure I have seen anything out there that will cover that hole up any. You could look for some kind of aftermarket "scoop" that will cover it up, but not look too awful "ricey". Or just spring for an aftermarket hood of sorts with a higher center cowl section.

Sure, hood vent... I mean I guess lol. I have heard it referred to a reverse scoop years ago so that's what I went with.

Yeah we don't want ricey. Tbh I'm not looking at a permanent change to the hood, just something to block rain/leaves/pollen/birds/small children from getting in there when it's parked that I can easily pull off when I'm ready to drive and slap on there when I get home from work or get to work (current house situation makes it difficult to park in the garage... changing once my house is done being built...)

I knew it was a long shot that anyone might have something like this but I wanted to see if maybe someone knew of something. Guess I'm either dealing without or making something/having something made.

If you want something just for when it's parked, looks perfect for 3D printing.

Also the other thing you have to think about is, I believe the hoods on these cars are aluminim, so anything to do with "magnetic" won't work either, otherwise you could have purchased a piece of thin "magnetic" plastic liner for the job. The material they make magnetic signs out of. When I had to cut a big hole in my 2004 V6 Mustang hood for the Eaton M112 blower I installed on it, when I got to work, or back home I just opened the hood, folded up a large thick towel and draped it over the SC and tucked it all around the area, then shut the hood, and it kept it all dry, and safe from critters, and small childern!! Just have to remember to remove it before you cranker up!!

Yep, just when it’s parked. If it’s running I’m not as worried about it.

I wouldn’t mind 3d printing something, but one my printer is in storage, and two, even my 400x400x400mm printer bed would be a bit small for this (for one piece anyway.)

I’ll be d***ed. you’re right, it isn’t steel. I could’ve sworn it was.

Back to the drawing board on something easy to use. The towel idea might be something to consider. I was hoping for something I could literally just slap on there but oh well.
