Meth?!?

I finally got my ECS kit in, ordered it back in Sep from a vendor who not to be named. I'm already thinking about my next mods lol. I'm thinking about adding a meth kit so I don't have to worry about messing with the fuel, since the sc kit comes 60lb injectors and a bap. What your thoughts on the newer snow kits with the trunk tank, braided lines, and boast gauge controller? Is anyone still using Meth or have they gone to e85?

I inherited a Snow kit with a used turbo kit. It was the original stage II with a solenoid and controller box. The Box failed after a while and I replaced it with Harris Performance Controls until. The pump works fine, but I did upgrade replace the nylon lines with stainless ones from a nitrous kit. I also converted the Snow pump to 3/8 npt with a pump top from Devils Own.

Meth definitely cools the intake charge allowing for more boost. I run 100% because I use the same fuel source to feed the nitrous, which is also why I switched to stainless teflon lines. I wanted to minimize the chances of a leak and push connect fittings leak if you have to disconnect and reconnect them with any frequency. On 100% I could see a 20* drop in IAT as soon as the meth kicked on. I use it mostly as added insurance meaning I don't add timing based on the meth.

A lot of guys swear by Alky, but I look at the systems the way I look at nitrous. Most of the parts are not manufactured by the sellers, e.g. Parker makes tons of the solenoids used for nitrous various manufacturer's systems, I look more at what is included in the kit. You want a solenoid connected to your triggering system, stainless lines, brass or stainless fittings, and a reliable pump. As far as I can tell, the pumps are all similar and they just use different internal regulators to increase the pressure and put their label on them. I have compared Snow jets to Devils own side by side and the Devils Own atomize better. Good luck.

Thanks appreciate it, the newer Snow kit comes with a solenoid, braided lines, hard anodized fitting(I think that's good), boost gauge/controller, and throttle body spacer for the injectors. It seems like the kit is much better then the older ones.

ALKYcontrol is in Tampa and you will not get better customer service from any company selling anything! Julio is the man. He’s walked me through numerous setups and install as well as any other questions you might have. He uses email, text and phone of course. You send him a picture of something he’ll tell you how to correct it or install it.

+1
Personally recommend Julio at Alky also. Great guy, seriously cares about the wants/needs of his customers. Took the time to discuss with me about current mods and goals for the build to identify best purchase specific to my needs of water/methanol system application.

We have been using Alky on all our cars for years. No issues.

Has anyone used the Snow throttle body insert/spacer for the nozzles? Is this to close to the intake manifold?

I have Alky meth kit. With the trunk tank.
Tank is a pain if have to change the pump.
When I got the car it had the plastic lines.
Called Julio at alky and he set me up with braided lines. And definitely helped me out a few times.
Definitely would recommend Alky

Never looked into a meth plate, but I purposely split off my IAT from the MAF and moved the nozzles just after the MAF to get the max cooling effect and be able to tell what the IAT was going into the TB. The evaporation is what cools the charge and it takes time, not a lot, but some.

Personally, I would go E85. Especially if you have pumps around where you live. It's easier to get and no separate tank.

I use the AEM progressive controller with all prometh lines, pump, tank, and nozzles. The AEM controller is so simple to wire up also.

I run alky dual nozzle system... works good. I run straight meth and it drops my intake temps 30-40 degrees below ambient.

I second this, and never skimp out on fueling especially going forced induction.

60lb injectors and bap is fine for 93 octane on a stockish motor. E85 will require more injector if you want to go that route
