The specified diff oil is a limited slip oil, yet the friction modifier IS STILL REQUIRED for our cars.

The clutches in the differential can wear out. When this happens they make lots of terrible noises. Changing the diff fluid with or with out the friction modifier will not make the noise go away. The clutch packs must be replaced. You can find videos on YouTube on how to do this.

A posi rear end is short for positraction.

Rear Axle (V8 Engine)

Rear Differential Fluid 75W-90 Limited Slip (GM Part No. U.S. 89021677 and Friction Modifier 1052358, in Canada 89021678 and Friction Modifier 992694).
