I’m looking at the DSS carbon fiber 1 piece but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I did buy the BMR driveshaft safety loop. Probably get that installed in the next few weeks.

Smart Curious if Ted discussed doing a one piece while he was doing all the other work especially the TrueTrac. Reason I ask is because nowhere on his website offerings is a one piece driveshaft. I find that odd considering the builds he does.

I will tell you what, If you do get around to doing a 1 pc, either aluminum or CF, you WILL notice the difference in the reaction time and throttle response to the rear wheels!! I certainly did. She revs up so much quicker that it startled me at first, then I got used to it. Being that the aluminum one only weighs around 11.5lbs and the stocker is about 22lbs, less rotational mass, plus my solid cradle bushings just makes it a ton of fun!!

Hmmm, I could understand if he thinks you need to reach a certain hp threshold but you know he does builds 1,000+hp and yet doesn’t offer one piece shafts as part of any build package or even on a standalone basis. Really strange.
Go figure?

Probably not enough profit on them to keep them in stock.

They do great work and know their stuff but looking at my invoice form them they are all about profit.

I ASKED for them so they could easily have thrown them in and marked them up plus labor, but they didn’t. Kinda shoots your all about profit opinion out of the water.

I've heard Ted has particulars that seem counter popular with other builders like not replacing stock oil pump with Melling or tensioner with dog bone damper on cam swaps. Guess not going with one piece drive shafts is another. Must have his reasons.

He did a Melling on mine and a LS2 damper so maybe he’s adapting. I’ve spoken with a lot of people as I used RPM in the past, but I’ve been super happy with JRE and the transparency & communication.

I will be happy to explain, In our experience aftermarket driveshafts and axles have proven to be unreliable for any reasonable term, we have had lots of comebacks due to driveline vibrations, failed axles, boots, clunking, etc.

So in a high power build we tend to lean toward OEM solutions like the ZL-1 Rear diff package that comes with Driveshaft and axles.

The aftermarket is full of parts that are suppose to be better than stock parts and often prove otherwise.

We don't need the headaches, just to make a sale.

I am sorry that we did not earn your business, but we will never sacrifice quality for price.

Yes, it is the harsh reality, if we are not profitable we can no longer exist.

In order to offer Top quality, I need, TOP TIER TECHNITIONS, TOP QUALITY TOOLS, AND 40+ YEARS EXPERIENCE.

But if you like, I suppose I could higher minimum wage mechanics, Not carry proper insurance, Not have a Repair license, Not pay my taxes, and let them work on your car then make excuses when you don't get what you expected

Too Many people fall in to the #MYBOYCANDOITCHEAPER TRAP, Then end up here later with there tail between there legs and an empty wallet.

A substantial % of our business are rescue missions.

So the lower cost shops keep us very busy.

I expect you are reading some very old threads, remember we were working on Brand new cars with no miles.

I tend not to follow trends just because they are popular, I prefer to do a lot with a little and use my skill rather than just throw more parts at it.

My skepticism comes from experience, and the parts we select have to prove to us to be worthy before we will recommend them, so we often test parts for years before we will offer them publicly.

Or disprove there quality then we will remove them from our offerings.

Also as the cars age we will adjust our packages to better fit the vehicle and cover wear items that were not a problem when the cars were new.

First I want to thank you for your business and sharing your first hand experience with Team JRE.

These parts have been standard in our Cam Packages for More than 8 years that I can remember.
