Funny you say that. As a kid that's what dad bought new. 1967 I think. Got rear ended-totaled on the highway and I saved the radio and antenna out of it to have some good AM radio to listen to. Way better than a handheld transistor radio. He thought the idea was goofy until he heard it, then kept it to play at the shop. Powered by a battery charger that induced a hum.
Now that I think about it, my Grandmother bought a mint green 73 tempest also. Her's was a 350 Pontiac V8.

I can attest to this. Been stuck in the mud in Alabama many a time. Luckily not in my Camaro.....well not my current Camaro
