Drivers Side AC warm - 2010 SS, not climate contoll car?
I am confused.
I have a 2010 SS and the AC is blowing Ice Cold on the passenger side but kinda warm on the drivers side. The Heater works on Both sides just fine. Thing is I don't have dual climate control in this car? Any thoughts on what could be causing this? If it was the Blend door the temperature would not change right? Any thoughts on what could cause this? Thanks, Cory C

From another thread. More like than likely, the blend door.
AC warm from driver vents, cold from passenger vents.

You can lay on your back and look up at the door. It's pretty obvious if the door is broke or not. But as already posted there is no need to do that because a broke door is the cause for what you are describing, there is nothing else that can cause it.

Does the discharge air temperature between the right and left center instrument panel outlets vary by more than 1–2°C (2–3°F)? —Go to Step 7 7 The A/C system may be undercharged. Leak test A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing. Recharge the A/C system to specifications. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. |

No there isn't. That wasn't my point. He said the blend door is the only thing that can cause his condition, and that's not true. I've wasted a lot of time and lost a lot of money by assuming the most common and not checking the basics first. Kinda like diagnosing a transmission problem without first checking the fluid level......same thing here.

It's not homework, it's doing this day in and day out for 39 years! You are correct, there are a lot of good facts and experiences with the guys on this forum. Problem is too many people on here assume because their car had a similar problem and needed this or that to fix it then that's for sure what the problem is with the other guys car! To me that's just bad advice...to me properly it should be "my car did something like that and this fixed it so I'd check that" Great example is the 17 Suburban sitting behind me. No a/c.....so 90% of these always have a leaking condenser. Instead of just assuming, I leak tested the system and it turned out to be the line to the rear a/c in front of the right rear tire leaking. Kinda hard to sell that guy that repair after selling him a condenser he didn't need huh?

Thanks for the replies guys. I spoke with the Local dealership today and they also said it might be low on refrigerant. They serviced the AC last years and they said system was perfect so if its low ... Guess they missed something? I have an appointment to bring it into them for diagnosis next week.
On A brighter note - I went threw my paperwork and my 48 month 50000 mile warranty still has 3 Months left on it! AC is for sure covered. SO fingers crossed whatever it is - it is covered by the warranty!!! IMO - Blend door seems a bit iffy. I can go from hot to cold and it works, Its very strange that one side is warm verses the other wen the Max AC is on. Sounds like low refrigerant might be a more plausible explanation? Thanks again - I will know more next week. Cory C
