Oil pressure

This is my car cruising on the highway. This is the oil pressure. Does this look normal? I also noticed that it will go down to 27 when at idle. On the street at just normal 4th gear 45mph it will be a little above 30 or a little below. Should I be worried? It has 89,000 miles it is a 2012 2ss ls3. Do all the other gauges look right?Name: IMG_2541.jpg

Looks correct. Those numbers are right about where my car runs for pressure, as well.

I think your ok with those numbers. Mine is 32psi at idle and 50psi at cruising but I have the 10355HV pump with 167k on mine.

Looks normal for a stock pump. Mine sits at 39-42 at hot idle, 54-56 at cruising at 2k rpm's, and around 65-68 at WOT, but I have the Melling 10295 pump in mine with 27k miles on the build. I have the Aeroforce Interceptor twin gauges to monitor all my engine parameters.

Using the "old school" rule of 10psi per 1000rpm, you really only need 7 psi at idle. As a matter of fact, the "stop engine-oil pressure low" message on the driver information center comes on at 7psi. Also most people don't know that there is a filter screen under the oil pressure sensor on the L99 to protect the solenoid valves in the VLOM. If that becomes restricted it will cause erratic and erroneous readings on your gauge.

Mine under hot idle is right around 27-30psi and 30-35 cruising. Yours is higher than mine so I'd say you are good!

Remember also the pressure will vary depending on the brand of oil you are using and the weight. The thicker the weight oil the higher the pressure will most likely be.
