Just got my Car...GM totally missed the mark - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I know you guys dont want to hear this, but GM totally missed the mark on this one. What the hell were they thinking?

All this hype and waiting for nothing, now I am 36k dollars in the hole.

First off, this car is nothing like the concept car I remember seeing and I thought they were going to call this the Chevy Volt, get to the dealer and they are now calling it a Camaro?? What the hell??

Then to find out, it doesnt even have batteries or the ability to plug it in. Worst of all it doesnt get anywhere close to the 200 MPG they have been promising....more like 20 MPG, may that part was just a typo on there part.

No wonder GM is bankrupt.

OK, now down to the real deal. I gotta say I am really glad GM took their time to bring this car to market.....its what a muscle car is suppose to be and more. Is it perfect?, probably not, but like a father of two "perfect" kids, I cant find any real fault, especially for the first model year.

Blind spots? YEP, No push button start, YEP, could use suspension tuning, YEP, anything make me wish I got a mustang or charger? HELL NO!

I am glad I went the 2SS RS 6sp manual, Yellow with black stripes. I went back and forth on the color and the transmission, but for me, its perfect. For those of you trying to decide, go with first pick and dont second guess yourself. There are no wrong answers, unless you decided not to get a Camaro!

I love the raw power of this stock engine, cant imagine what is going to feel like when I get my turbo/SC installed in a few months. Those who have already done a turbo/SC, how much difference??

Randy Mobely at Walker Chevrolet in Franklin TN gets a shout out for doing a MSRP deal, $299 dealer junk fee and being upfront and honest from start to finish.

Thanks to the Camaro5 site for a lot of great info and providing fellow Camaro nuts a forum to feed their addiction. God help us all when the S/C Z28 gets here.

P.S. Dont beat me up for parking in a handicap spot, this spot was relocated to the front of the building and hasnt been painted over yet!
