Feedback on selling car or building it
Hey guys.
I have a lower mileage(13k miles) 2010 m6 2ss rs Black on Black with Ground effects package I have done a few mods but also kept all the stock equipment as well. Intake, LT headers. Tune, wicker bill, axle back. The usual... I would like to super charge it and beef up the clutch and rear end. I ran some costs and I think it may be cheaper to sell and get into a ZL1. I figure it would cost between 10 to 15k maybe more to boost it Or sell it which I think the value is around 25 to 27 and ad 10 to 15 and get into the Zl1. Thoughts or feedback? Thank you |

You won't get your money back out of it if you boost it.
The ZL1 will keep it's value tho.

Someone local to me has a 2009 ctsv with 25k miles for 29k.
Sedan. Auto which I don't mind as I've had a couple built G8s as well. |

The only downside to the LSA is the smallish 1.9L blower. If you can live with the power provided by that, you have the right idea.

Imo, I would boost your current car. For that cost, you can put in a bigger super charger and supporting mods and have a faster and better car than a ZL1. It all depends on what you want. If you only want a super charged car with no work, then trading up is easier, but if you want power and speed then modding your SS will be cheaper hp per $$ wise.

It is a heavy car so hp to weight doesn't favor it being super fast. |

I decided I wanted to modify mine after having the same discussion. Very little of the stock car is left, especially suspension wise, but I’d take it over a modified ZL-1 any day.

@Royal Tiger cause you'd walk a ZL-1 any and every day....
and I agree, I was in the same conundrum, do i modify or start with something already modified...I decided to keep mine as its MINE and it was what I wanted. I didnt WANT a yellow car...but it was a ZL-1... |

I have owned a 13 SS/RS for a few years now. I gave it very minor modifications - ie, exhaust, graphics and "Super Sport" script. Now that I have another Camaro (vert) that is rare and special enough not to modify, I plan on going apeshit on my coupe. Like others have said, any mods I do will further instill the fact that it is my car, unique to me and my tastes.
In the end game, you do YOU. If it's a new ZL1, then so be it. If it's modding the current ride, run with it and make it happen. Just my 2 pfennigs. |

Have you considered a full out N/A build? Wicked cam, head work and 3.91 gears? I love the sound of my 495HP LS3 in my C5 track vehicle. Move the cam selection up a notch or two and enjoy the hydrocarbons.
