I see it is rivet together , I was wondering if over time it would loosen up, I do like the fact it is aluminum. I just worry about the paint peeling over time and having to redo it.

Maybe I will order mine though them and I am sure it weights less then the steel version.
I cut mine with a razor blade so it was just easier to cut all the way down. Ideally the plastic would wrap around the scoop. For me, it didn't seem necessary to plumb it perfectly. It is a pretty tight space and without a dremel tool, its kind of a pain to reach that far in there. It should still do the job as advertised, in my opinion. I made healthy dyno numbers considering my very simple mods, so I am happy either way .

I should also note that it is a very gritty aluminum material. I would call it "raw". It's not smooth, so I imagine that paint would stick to it very well.

I would get it Powder Coated if I had a place that was fairly close by. You only see a small part of it but I got Black Primer and Matte paint, Ill put a couple coats of each and It should hold up. I thought about a coat or 2 of Matte clear would make it even more durable.

Rustoleum bed liner is good for parts that need to be tough but not prominently seen

Yes I have Professional Bed liner kits here but I can't really mix up a small batch. I thought about getting a small can of it to use, I think that the primer/Paint combo I plan to use should hold up.

I'm talking about the rattle can Rustoleum bed liner. Probably not tough enough for bed liner, but tougher than rattle can paint. It is textured though. Rocker panel paint would also likely work ok also.

I ordered my JRE Scoop on Wednesday, I had it at my door Thursday, I am away at the moment so I have not got to check it out yet. When I spoke with the gentlemen on the phone he was very pleasant and helpful. So far a good experience.

I got it installed, My 2014 Plastic that needs to be cut looks nothing like any of the instructions that I have read, I am guessing 2014 was a change year. I cut it a little bigger then needed but I was able to fill the gap and can only tell from behind the bumper. Install was easy but the Rotor fab washer relocation kit that mounts to the back of CAI intake would not allow me to get the CAI Brand intake back far enough to get the lid on, I am a little unhappy about that, I removed it for now Left pump mounted to frame and will figure out what I will do next either get the one that mounts to cold air intake or maybe the one that Roto fab has that goes by master cylinder. Just not sure how that one will fit either.

When you purchase the scoop kit, there should have been an option for the Cold air inductions kit. They send a special adapter that allows you to use the CAI air box. I have the same kit on my car with no issues. You do have to clarify that you have the CAI box though. If you ordered it over the phone the sales person probably just didn't know to ask that question. I would call in and they will handle it for you.

Yeah Googled it and found like one post talking about this, I wish I would have known they should make a note for that, It has caused me quite a bit of extra non sense. Scoop works well Removing washer res really opened air box.

Is it necessary to remove the front bumper to install the scoop and washer bottle...? 🤔
