Catch can value

Given that LS3 is not DI, if you have a stock motor with no FI added, is there honestly any value in a catch can?

I don't see it, but then you won't be able to put it in your signature as a "mod"

I exclusively daily drive my Camaro, about 20 miles a day or so. Mostly highway, and some spirited driving of course. I definitely give her the beans on a regular basis. I regularly clean out about 1 or 2 oz of fluid from my Mishimoto can every 2 or 3 months. Keep in mind my car currently has 44k miles, so she is good and healthy. The oil always smells like a mixture of fuel and oil. So I would say that keeping that 1 or 2 oz of oil out of my intake on a regular basis is definitely worth it. You can usually find one used on the marketplace, so no need to pay for full price. just my .02 cents.

Same here with mine. I don't daily her anymore, but the miles I do put on here are about 100 or so each weekend. I have had the RX catch can on mine since 2012 when we installed the headers and did a dyno tune. Since install I check it every 4k miles/oil change, and sometimes find about 1-2 ozs of oil in it each time, sometimes nothing at all. So yea, I would say it is worth having and keeping that oil OUT of your intake. Currently at 127k miles and the amount I get out is still the same.

ADD W1 catch can here.
Same as last few posters. Check it every 3-4k and usually a little in the bottom to an ounce or so. Is it needed? Not the point, if it makes you feel better, go for it.

Im not 100% sure but usually i pour the contents into a solo cup to measure it and it usually has up to the very first little line. Which I believe is 1 ounce. Only owned my cars for 2 oil changes.

I bought one of the phastek branded cans and 2 years later it has not had one drop of oil in it. Maybe I put it on wrong?

I have a 170k on mine right now. When I had my intake and heads off the last time it was full of oil, so I went and bought a mishimoto catch can and get about an once or so from around 1k miles of driving. So the only thing is I wish I would of done it a lot sooner because now it's all in the intake runners of the heads and kind off burnt on. I would say hell yes it's needed especially if you have low mileage if you value your engine. Luckily, I'm doing a rebuild soon.

bottom line IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! i too catch oil and drain it when you collect 1 to 2 ozs of it i'm no scholar or scientist but that seems to be alot of oil mist not going into your combustion chamber to be burned. when truly you should only burn gas and air.
