Compared to burning down 14 cities and taking over entire parts of Seattle and Portland I completely agree.

I have been with Hagerty for three years. My stock 2014 2SS/RS insured for $35,000, with only one hiccup. I had a flat and waited 3 hours for tow truck and then the showed up with a hook not flat bed. It all worked out, but I complained and they refunded me $50.00 for my wait and trouble.

Nice! I love the LP style. I'm buying a kit for a Christmas present to myself and building one. I'll likely go with that same finish. Looks great!

Back on topic. I've had Hagerty for a a dozen years on my '74 K5/Blazer and have had no issues. But haven't had to make a claim either. Recently they suggested that I increase the coverage amount t0 $22,000. That bumped-up my yearly rate to ≈$350. They won't insure my Camaro due to of all the miles that I drive it. I'm sure their rates vary state-to-state because of all of the different legal requirements that the states institute.

There have been other threads on this. For me it wasn't positive with these classic insurers. I garage it already and Low annual miles. They wouldn't insure my daily drivers too so with all the discounts I get with my big insurer, Longevity, good driver, no crashes, multi car, house and car and others I actually have a cheaper price already than to separate out my Camaro. Also they don't like my hp with a mod supercharged Camaro.

My insurance is dirt cheap. It'll cost me the same if I do Hagerty compared to state farm. Advantage is that I choose the value on my car, and mods are covered (in a way), and 0 deductible compared to 500$ w/ State Farm.

Great. I learned of a new company American Collectors in this thread. I left State Farm looong ago when they double billed me when I moved and wouldn't refund me. There are better values out there!
I had to sue in small claims a very small local insurer who then subcontracts out to larger insurance companies. He pocketed the payments and didn't send them in to the actual bigger company and left me in reality uninsured. From that experience I can't recommend these independent small insurers but other than that it's great to save money

Yeah, a friend of mine had the general and the screwed him big time. He got rear ended and the guy didn't have insurance so he had to go through his own insurance, and he called and emailed them for two weeks before they got back to him and even then, he had an aftermarket exhaust that got screwed up but, they told him they wouldn't cover his exhaust system. Then he couldn't get a hold of anyone for like a month after that so' finally he ended up paying everything out of pocket and now is taking them to court. I don't think I would ever go to a little insurance company, and I don't think the general is even that small.
