Any Relearn Needed when adding Ported Throttle Body?Pedal Commander Leave or remove?

Hi,



I have a ported throttle body coming shortly, Did you guys do any TPS/Idle relearn when swapping the TB? Disconnect Battery or anything?


I currently have a Tune ( Mods below ) and a Pedal Commander, What are your guys experience should I remove the Pedal Commander?


No Tune needed from what I am told/researched.

As far as the pedal commander, never had one, so I can't comment on that. But as far as a re-learn, I just disconnected my battery, as you should always do that when disconnecting any electrical component to de-energize it. Swap it out, connect it back up and reconnect the battery and go drive it as you would normally would, that's all I did. Noticed the difference right away, quick and a lot more crisp on the response. You might want to take the pedal commander off and see how you like it, you might be surprised. Good luck!!

I didn't even disconnect the battery and I flipped it upside down to make room for a nitrous plate. No issues. I did have to do a relearn when I did a compression test because I had to hold the throttle blade open with a screw driver while I did the test.

Yes That is what I figured I would do just figured I would ask, I believe shutting Pedal Commander off puts it back to Factory.

I should have it by the end of the month, I installed the Pedal commander a last week and honestly have not even tried it yet besides moving it around in my shop, I would like to take it off just because it is one less thing to go wrong so I am hoping the Ported TB will do the job, When I first purchased the car the clutch and the throttle were the first things I noticed needed work.

i will go with bo later next month have to hide it from the better half. happy wife, happy life. shes put up with 30 years of me and 20 of it was wheb we both were on our harleys. me and that old gal road alot of highway together

Installed the Ported Throttle Body today and installed new battery at the same time, I used a torque wrench but I ended up stopping at 95 Inch pounds ( Spec is 106 Inch pounds ) since it really felt like it was getting tight. Car started right up but the RPM gauge was gong crazy and I had an ABS and Service Power steering warning message on dash. I unplugged the MAF and TB Plug and plugged them back in and everything went away.


BO's work looks great and working with him was very easy. Thanks again BO.


I can't say how it works on the road as it is finally raining here so it will be a few days before I get the car out.

Thanx bud. I just happened to run across that new TB when I was cleaning my workshop out. Glad you wound up getting it.
Most usually ditch the pedal commanders after a ported TB. Sometimes errors are thrown when ran together because it's too much.
