Chime in

Anyone have BMR 1.4 lowering springs with after market struts/shocks? I have BMR's right now with my 1Le suspension, and it's time to upgrade. Rebound is sketchy driving over dips, and it bottoms out if I go over a decent size bump.

Looking at Pedders Sport Ryders/ Koni Orange.
Or if you have lowering springs and any aftermarket strut/shock. How's the ride? Rebound? Bumps on highway?

Don't want to do coilovers.

I have the ZL1 Eibach® - 0.5" x 0.3" Pro-Kit Front and Rear Lowering Coil
Springs (https://www.phastekperformance.com/E...-38144.140.htm). I currently have the rears in with Bilstein shocks but don't have the fronts in because the front Bilstein's aren't available right now. And let me tell you it doubled the stiffness of the rear end almost to the point of too stiff compared to the original SS set. But I have no idea how stiff the 1LE is compared to my stock set up or the new set up. You're probably thinking why did I go with ZL1 springs? That was all based on the drop because the ZL1 springs had the least amount of drop (1/2" for the ZL1 compared with the 1" drop on the SS springs) and I didn't even want to drop it at all but that is the least amount I could find.

Budget constraints... already dropped 16k on a new engine... I can do Megan CO, which supposedly are BCs.... but I already have the springs. Don't really care for adjustability. Also cheaper to swap a shock or strut if 1 of them does blow out.

Bilstein was the answer for my lowered 1LE. The BMR springs on the stock suspension were a mismatch and made for a rough ride. As soon as I swapped to the Bilsteins with the same lowering springs the ride improved. It's really what should have been on the car originally.

It was very stiff for sure. Just hated hitting bumps on the hwy and dips.

I have the Koni yellows. I got them from a vendor on here on sale for only a few bucks more than the oranges. Been great so far. Very nice ride.

Arogg my brother, I’m thinking of going this route soon, depending on my cage build. I already ordered the seats and harnesses. You can have my Koni Yellows. They have probably 10k on them tops.

My next hurdle now is if my 315 rear tires and my 295 front tires will clear the suspension. They say OE fit, but of course geometry can be different.

Same for my lowered SS.

I am also happy with my Bilstein B6. They are the right stiffness for me. I have 1.25 springs. I abuse them pretty hard on track days.
They also have lifetime warranty. After 5 years one rear started leaking it is on way back to them now. They have not approved the warranty yet, but I do expect them to.

I like the simplicity of the B6's vs coilovers

Off Topic: RupertPupkin what is your lower front splitter? My ACS has gotten dinged up Like the idea of running a lower splitter.
