Is Chevy marketing or buyers not know about The Z/28

Somebody from Ford is doing a good job on marketing the GT350 or the buyer is smoking some good $hit. Z/28 is a rare car but the prices just not going up. Any thoughts on that.

I've been pondering this myself and I came up with a theory albeit slightly painful. It's the name Z28. The low quality poor performing Zs of the late '70s and early '80s defined the name Z28. Unfortunately our cars are connected to that lineage. When a deep pocketed auction attendee hears that name that's what pops into his uniformed noggin. These are the individuals that run the prices up to ridiculously high amounts. Fine by me, keep those unappreciative types away from our special 5th Gen Z/28s!

Those old Zs may not have been as special as the newer ones and maybe diluted the name a bit but most cars back in that period were slow compared to now too. They were up to the standard of the cars of the day. If you go on Youtube and type in Porsche vs Camaro you will see that the Camaro of 1983 was faster around Summit Raceway then a Porsche 928.

BTW, Mustangs were not any better.

Basically Mustang buyers are crazy!

I have seen Elanore clones sell for mor than documented 69 COPO Camaros.

And yes Ford has a MUCH better marketing program than Chevrolet.

You may have a point there.

When I talked to a car enthusiast friend about my camaro he said " I thought that the Z/28 was the cheapest base model of those Camaros. At least that's what the Z/28 nameplate means in my head".

He owns a Gen V Viper, Lotus etc - not your average Joe.

Yeah, I have been saying that enthusiasts are sleeping on the Z.

Looking at online and auction sites, prices are outrageous for M/AMG/GTR/Shelby/Bullitt/S2000/SupraTT/996/997/NSX..etc.

It seems Z28 badge does not have the same type of reaction. TBH, I did not know much about the badge but I like this 5th gen for its capabilities.

Good for people that are still looking for one.

With all the racing hardware and ceramic brakes, still sleeping on this bad boy. Z28 badge is that bad?

VS. GT3RS

VS. GTR Track

Names like Challenger Hellcat & Mustang Shelby GT500, Cobra etc are way better names than Camaro Z/28. Wtf is a Camaro and Z28 or ZL1 has no meaning to most people.
GMs nomenclature is terrible.

Bring back Trans Am series racing and the Z/28 would be definitely noticed. But that is history and no one really cares. I think time will will tell, be patient this car is unlike any that will ever be manufactured.

Unless you are a GM nerd, all the Z nameplates don't mean jack. People knows Shelby/M/AMG/911GT. Even non-enthusiasts!

At least Cadillac got it right with V as the top performance model.
