You play the music on your phone (or other device that supports it) and it plays over the speakers. It's stereo audio and much better quality than the "hands free" or "headset" profile used to make phone calls. The PDIM module does not let you make phone calls via bluetooth. That is handled by the OnStar module.

SO basically I am paying to play music. This does not allow me to use my phone and make calls.

Coop,

Yes, it will allow you to play music with Ipod, Zune, USB flash drive and through bluetooth. The PDIM will NOT allow you to use your phone for phone calls.

I just breezed through this thread and I am confused. I have a 2LT/rs and I plug my iPOD into the port in the center counsel. My radio shows my iPOD. It will allow me to use my steering wheel controls and radio controls to select anything on my iPOD via the cars systems, I don't have to touch my iPOD at all. Is this what you guys are referring too?

Yes. The 1LT w/ C&C, 2LT, and 2SS all include the PDIM from the factory.
