Yes, I am going with the same size tire and rim on all 4 corners.

The rear tires are 1" wider, the fronts will be 1.3" wider for the tire contact patch on the road. (remember the stock fronts are 245's).

The Bridgestone RE-11's are NOT run flats.

I don't care about not having a spare in the car. If I get a flat I have other tires at home and will use my pickup, floor jack, and tools to change them. I will tow the car to the racetrack in my enclosed trailer so I have tools, air compressor, Grill for cooking, etc.

My next tires to order will be a set of Hoosier tires - 295 30 19 with another set of rims for them for Race tires. All 4 wheels/tires will be the same size for the R series compound tires as well.

I am trying a cheap rim for the Hoosires if they clear the brakes. These rims are the VMR VB3 19X10 size. All of the dimensions are correct.. not sure if they clear the brembo's though. I will give an update after I get them in and try them.

It Depends..
Biggest obstacle will be the stock rims at 9.5 " wide.
Are you going to stay with the stock rims?
If the height changes from 28.7", the speedo will need to be modified by sending the PCM to LPE to change the tire size. (I have to do this for the 19's I am going to run.)

There is room to go wider, but not many wider tires will fit the stock wheel. Go to tire rack and experiment with tire sizes. Be warned - almost all of the 20" tires are in the $500.00/ea price range. even with wider aftermarket rims, the 20's are still expensive.


It took me a month to find the right tire/rim combo that will work with my combination that I posted in the earlier posts for the 19" size.

I like the ccw 505a's I was thinking 20x 11.5 on rear and 20x11's on the front.
The way I look at it, in a LPE putting down almost 600 hp at the wheels, tires are just part of the game.
So far I have a set of the stock 20's, and a set optional 21's and will get a set of CCW 20's, I will set up the stock 20's with street slicks for the strip. Bet I end up getting some 19's to help the stick factor in the 1/4 mile.

It's max. lifting height is 6'-10", even the bean pole Junkie will fit under there!
You only need 100" for the lift, the rest is so you don't shove the car through the roof!
One thing you guys need to consider if you want to install a lift, you need to check how level your garage floor is. Whatever pitch there is from the front to the back of the lift, you will have to shim the back end up. Where this matters is driving up the ramps onto the lift. You can go from 4" minimum ramp rise height, to 6 or 7 inches in a heartbeat. This means longer ramps to make the clearance.
There is a fair amount of room under a Camaro, but less than 5 under a C6.
Also make sure you have enough concrete poured in the floor. We have plenty of building inspectors here but in other areas I know they are lacking! 4" is a minimum.
Lastly is door clearance. The door needs to be "high rise" so it goes up high and fast enough to clear the lift. If anyone is seroiusly considering a lift and knows they will have a problem with the door, let me know. i can help with that!

Windy, There will no doubt be a problem with our door it comes up and turns horizontal at approximately 2ft from the ceiling eating up valuable vertical space. I'm guessing a new track that goes up another 18" and then turns horizontal may help. Depending on your fix it may be more cost effective to place the lift in the out building. Let me know your thoughts. Much appreciated.

My CCW wheels are C10's and 18 x 11 in the rear and an 18 x 9 in the front.
The rear tire is a Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial P305 45R18 and the front is a MT Sportsman S/R 28 x 10R18LT
There is a lot to be said about running the car with at least one of the computer controls on while on the street.
Your still gunna get max acceleration without slippage!
I think if I burn the Pirelli's up, I'll buy an set of old school Craiger S/S's!

RS, you can change the door to a high lift style very easily. My doors are only 7' tall and originally turned horizontal 16" above the door opening.
My door in front of the lift now goes up some 11' before rotating horizontal.
I can send you a link to a door guy who can calculate out the size/wind of springs you need and fix ya right up. Of course I am assuming you have a door that uses wound torsion springs?
This guy can also give you new cables, fabricated to the correct length, and new drums.
The track is easy to modify.
I have the info at work and I will send it tomorrow.
If you can plan on taking some photo's of the interior of your door hardware and opening. Also plan on measuring the door, opening, and you will have to weigh the door. (you can do it with a bathroom scale)

No wonder you don't see any Camaro's on the road.. All of the automotive Vendors bought most of them and brought them all to SEMA.

The auto makers are needing to get a little smarter. They need to look at marketing a little more like Harley Davidson has.
Sell the stock car, the Camaro for instance, and sell all kinds of additional parts to "customize" it. This is what Harley has done for years.
Just like a lot of HD riders want to "customize" there own bikes, car owners do too. People also would be willing to pay a little more for "factory" parts and service.

You hit the nail on the head. Ford is way out in front on this one with the Ford racing line. GM needs to provide what the customers want. The days of here telling customers what to buy are over. I think they are so top heavy the right hand has no clue wht the left is doing. The Corvette and Camaro are examples of what they can do, they need to do it.
