ESS VS ECS

What would you go with , not so much head unit recommendations but over all quality of the kit

I have the ESS G2. Been running it for the last year and a half

Very impressed with the quality

I've heard great things about the ECS too. Might be a little more expensive? But I don't think you can go wrong either way

I'm happy with my ecs kit, the only thing I wish I did was get the tuners kit cause my goals have changed and I need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors.

That's good to hear , qualify is pretty important to me , dont want to buy a kit twice , or have to upgrade half the parts

I see the ecs tuner kit says 17 to 19psi with no restrictor,

That max ? or with the pully it ships with ? There web site did not even have pully information

ESS G3X here. Super nice kit, makes tons of power. Very happy with the kit. Hardest part is explaining to people that it is not a pro charger. I have seen 18 psi at 7200 on a missed shift. 95mm pulley. Sets at 16 psi at 7k shifts. Lots of that depend on supporting mods. I am in the process of upgrading to the G4-95 now. Building a 408 and 4l80 over the next few months. Easy bolt on to an N/A setup, just add a bigger fuel system.

I am at 9# with the restrictor plate in the 1500 kit. You don't need to change pully just take out the plate if you want more boost. That's one of the reasons I went with it.

I beat the shit out of the ESS Tuning kit. It never blinked. FYI, the ECS is 8 rib and the ESS is 10 rib. The belt routing of the ESS kit was designed for maximum contact/wrap around the pulleys. Plus being 10 rib, you will NOT be fightin belt slip like so many others do. I spun the G4-95 with a 207mm lower and 90mm upper to 7300 rpms. I havent done the math on impeller RPM, but lets just say most people wont be spinning it anywhere near that fast.

Another major difference is Intake Temperature. That is something most people dont think about until theyre shopping for a meth kit. I highly suggest trying out one of the ESS G2,3,4 head units. My intake temps were 108 degrees on the dyno making 1100+whp, just using E85 and the ESS Tuning intercooler.

ESS Tuning makes their own superchargers in house in Arizona. (although they do sell Vortech head units compatible with their kits). I believe they would stand by their product if anything ever happened.

ESS is completely exploding in the mustang world. F150 kits coming soon. They aren't going anywhere.

The G4 has a max of 72,000. So I guess I had plenty of room. Hence the low IATs.

It really comes down to;

Power goal.

Desired Power curve.

How much future growth you want to leave on the table.

How you want the underhood to look.

Head unit options are also a consideration.

I sell both and can help you make a decision.

I want to go as far as a brand new ZL1 pump and quality BAP will get me in my 2010 SS

Stock clutch , car still under 18,000 miles tho

Dont care how under the hood looks

Power curve that works best in 1/4 mile drag racing with a driver that on stock clutch and trying not to break parts "soft launchs" on drag radials

Im FBO and cam right now , cam is Howard's racing 224/234 .612 lift 112+4 LSA , they clame it works great with small blower on there info sheet
