trans mount

For anyone that's either done a short shift, replaced clutch, or had any other reason for trans be out, did you replace the rubber insert in the tail shaft mount? If so did you mess with polyurethane? I'm debating the value of poly over rubber.

Is there a specific reason to do so for you? Gone bad or doing it for other purposes like autox/road course/aggressive street? Only reason I will be upgrading to a revshift mount is I'm putting in BMR engine mounts.

That's kind of the core of my question. I'll be doing an MGW and fresh clutch soon. The insert is cheap, so I was wondering about value of doing it while I'm in there. What I would get out of it. That and any caveats about undesirable effects.

I wouldn't think you'd notice too much of a difference/effect just in a trans mount. I would say if you're there and willing, change it out.

I have the Revshift insert because it was cheap and I did not want to go back after I put it all back together because a mount broke. I did notice an increase in NVH, but I do have a bronze shifter cup, carbon blockers, Corvette output shaft bearing and bronze fork pads, which increase NVH a bit and I think the insert just magnified that. It did not increase NVH enough for me to ever consider taking it out.

I went from a SS mount to Z28 factory mount. Feels very nice and minimal NVH.

They're an interchangeable fit? I'm working with a 2011 SS.

I went from a SS mount to a Z28/1LE mount an it cause NVH to the poinbt of being uncomfortable in the car, its magnified with LTH's and bigger exhaust. So im going back to my spare ZS/1LE mount an didnt notice any difference on track.

I have the Revshift on the shelf, I am going to install it but I want to install the Aluminum Driveshaft first, Figured if I do both at the same time I will not know which caused increased NVH . The insert is easy to install and remove from what I have read.
In my 3RD Gen Z/28 the Poly trans mount made a huge difference in shifting.

I had installed the RevShift years ago. Not sure how much more it stiffened up the movement. I got a certain, low RPM NVH (noise) that I didn't like passing through as I accelerated daily driving it. Since the 2013 and newer Camaros had a little stiffer OEM transmission mount than the earlier years, I opted to put that OEM back in. I have not encountered any detrimental effects from doing that. I do have the Prothane poly motor mounts installed.

Think I'm just gonna keep it simple and stay OEM.
