Track Day at Streets of Willow

Got to take her out to the track this weekend.

Here I am getting hunted down by my buddies new 2019 1LE.
He ended up putting down a 1:25 CCW. I was able to ink out a 1:28.

Always letting her run wide open. Especially with the muffler/cat delete

I love your hood but the wife shot it down. How’s visibility with corners?

I’ve actually been weighing that same hood for mine. Looks killer, hope you had fun at the track!

I've gotten used to it but it does get in the way sometimes. Only time it's really a problem is in tight spots in a parking lot if you are trying to look in front of the passenger side. On the road or on the track it's only really an issue on crests but even then you can work around it.

That said the guy that sold it to me said his wife didn't like it because she couldn't see a damn thing lol.

Mine doesn’t drive my car so that’s not an issue lol. I think I’m gonna get one in the coming year or so. Love the way your car looks by the way!

Thanks bud. The car definitely stands out with a cowl that big.

I think hardwod makes a 3 inch version that might be easier to live with. The biggest benefits at the track is the heat extraction. I got two massive vents at the end of the cowl. Stock hood on the 2010 traps heat pretty bad.

Only thing missing now is the supercharger to go under it.

I drove it after dark for the sheer enjoyment of driving after dark for the first time in a few years.

Sunday night, I went out across the desert, through towns, over to the dam and back again, all the while, reveling in the fact that I can see in the dark again - and better than I ever could before in my life.

After multiple eye surgeries over the past 2-3 years (total of 9 between both eyes), they finally got it right last week. Driving my Camaro seems like it is new all over again. The joy of seeing crisp, bright images in 20/20 as I drive along has been nothing short of incredible and life-changing. Don't take your vision for granted!

, wow, that's scary. I'm glad whatever the issue was, it has been rectified. Yeah, after I turned 50, I go EVERY YEAR to the eye doctor. Checkups are suppose to be free(preventative) if you have insurance and if you don't, there are other ways to get checkups on your eyes. They do charge $35 bucks for this new test that takes pics of your optic nerve to catch problems they weren't able to diagnose a few short years ago. I got my cornea scratched playing hockey 30 years ago and it was a nightmare. Now, over 50, it's glasses for night driving. I'm so afraid of LASIK. Oh, this is the CamaroGen5 forum so WEAR YOUR PROTECTIVE GLASSES when working on your CamaroGen5.

Yep, I’m 35 and have had yearly checkups since about 9 years old. I can’t see any thing clearly, further than about 18” in front of my head without contacts or glasses. It gets really old really fast. I’ve been contemplating lasik for a few years now but haven’t pulled the trigger. I think I will in the next 2-3 years. I’ve had the new scan about 3-4 times now and it is pretty interesting when the doc goes over everything with you.

Danial, awesome to hear that you have finally been successful in getting your sight better. I’m sure that is an awesome feeling!
