Springs or coilovers for lower budget?
Was wondering what the best choice would be for lowering my Camaro when my budget is not big enough for a proper coilover kit. I was thinking about getting the megan racing ez street coilovers for $700 or just getting lowering springs but was wondering if I shouldn’t even bother with the cheaper coilovers. Also the previous owner put 425’s on the rear wheels so would that pose a problem to rubbing on the wheel well or fenders if I lower the car.

425's on the rear!!! How the heck did he do that!!! I have 335's on mine and that's just about the widest you can go!! As for the lowering, if your budget is tight like mine was many years ago, I opted for the Pfadt Race Engineering 1.25 lowering springs. Coilovers were out of my price range. Don't go cheap on them, you get what you pay for. If you want to do them, save some money and do it right with the good stuff!! Good luck. Here's a pic of my Camaros rear.

425"s?? Got to be a misprint! I agree with 1JEWLD. just go with 1 1/4 lowering springs . I used BMR and i dont really notice a difference in ride.

I’m guessing 325’s. I have 315/35-20 and my drag radials are 325/35-18.

275 is the stock tire size. No need to worry about that. Springs are probably the cheapest way for lowering a car. Biggest name id say is BMR

pedders coilovers perform better then shocks w/lowering springs if you can manage $1200.

I agree with others here that if you go coilovers, spend the money once and do it well. I’m currently running Bilstein B6 struts/shocks and Hotchkis 1.0 or 1.25” drop springs (I don’t remember what they offer). The ride is amazing. Firm, yes. But handling is great. Especially with some Detroit Speed rear parts to plant the power.

I have Vogtland lowering springs for my car. Pretty easy installation and I believe they lower the car an inch and a half.

No sir, still rockin the stock shocks and struts!! No issues and a firm, solid but comfortable ride. Still on stock bushings too in the suspension front and rear. Didn't feel the need to change them out.

That looks great sir!! And yea on the wife thing, if it still rides good enough for her to be happy, you did GOOD!! That way she won't hate on the car like some do because it is too harsh. Nice..
