Even the 2002 Camaro SS barely broke 300 hp, and up until then, "performance" was measured in the mid to high 200s. My 94 Z28 vert had 275hp. It was a fun car but hardly muscle.

We'll have to agree to disagree...grin..

Same here. Shiny, clean 5th gens are a dime a dozen in my neck of the woods. I can't drive anywhere around here without seeing a few.
But having said that, back in the late 70s when I was in high school, 1st gens were everywhere and if you paid more than $1000 USD for one, people thought you were nuts and in most cases they could be had for $600-$800 all day long.

Start looking at the 1LE's. Does all the same things as a Z28, just not as fast...(Randy Pobst made those remarks after he tested out a 5th gen 1le btw) back around 2014-15. 👍

I see some ragged out looking V6 cars, not many V8s, and all rarely looking nice.
Funny how people are excited to buy one then wash it once a year.
I can just imagine the oil change frequency, interior, etc.

That's too bad. Hate to hear it. That's certainly not the norm here.

This time, Chevy is killing off the Camaro to go all electric. Think 6.2 V8 Camaros won't be valuable as there are fewer and fewer gas powered muscle cars left?

Same here. A bunch of dirty Camaros running around these parts. I kept mine spotless, but ever since selling it back to my son, it's been covered with dirt and road salt. Hurts my eyes when I look at it...

yep if I didn't have a 5th gen Z28, I'd have gotten a 14-15 1LE. I love how they look. anyone could even add the Z28 aero to it etc.

They might get rarer still if vendors don't step up and start supporting them with aftermarket parts.
If anything support seems to be drying up.

I've seen pictures of these supposed Richmond 3.55 gears....

And thank God I don't have mag ride.

And of course I'm on the other side of the fence. If I could've afforded it at the time a Z28, then I would've one most likely instead of my 1LE.

Tell me about it. I had a 15 Z28 with 3600 miles get sold out from under me in 2020 for $38K clean title, car fax, etc. probably won’t ever see a deal like that again.

Pretty sure it was 335hp in the 2002 SS, weight to HP the 2002 SS was damn near as quick as a 5th gen. The LS1 was well known to make 300-310 wheel with a six speed trans stock.

More than a few ran high 12's in good DA totally stock

This is becoming like a bad tooth for ZL1 owners, I am looking into an option for mine as the time is coming for sure when you can't get mag ride shocks.
