Exhaust questions
Please bear with me here on another exhaust question thread.
I'm looking at the AWE touring cat-back setup. However, when I go to buy it, it offers me resonated or non-resonated. What is the difference between those 2? Also, it asks if I need the "valve simulators." What are those? Is that to keep NPP, or something else? The system is pretty pricey at $2045 on phastek and awe's sites. Is there a better place to order, or deals going on right now?

The resonated version has resonators and it smooths the sound just a bit so that its not quite as raspy. As someone that owns the resonated version and has removed the resonators and reinstalled them, I greatly prefer the resonated version. When you order the kit for the ZL1, there are no valve simulators if I recall and there is no NPP function.
CSP has the best pricing that I'm aware of. https://www.cspracing.com/awe-tourin...v8/3015-42092/ https://www.cspracing.com/awe-tourin...v8/3015-43114/ Not sure if these codes are still active but they're still posted on their website. Enter discount code july4th2022 at checkout. You can also try FALL22 code if that doesn't work. |

I paid right under 2k for mine back this spring and had it installed for 160 bucks. If you think that is pricey go look at a Borla but sit down first ... LOL

Top thread of this sub forum is AWE's thread. Anything you need to learn is in there, I just asked a question there this week.
Also Dynosteve has great prices, reach out for a Promo code for 10% off. I am going to see if Phastek will price match myself, since they're local. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=605523

I contacted DSP performance, and they referred me to their website to order. However, I only see the 16-19 SS camaro's listed for the AWE touring catbacks. Are our zl1s compatible with this kit, or am I looking in the wrong spot?

Compatible. If you look on AWE's website you will see the SKU #'s are the same and it says "SS/ZL1".

Go with DSP. They have been my go-to for a long time (Previously RDP Store). Steve always has the best prices and has always responded to my questions about price and availability almost instantly.

Hey all, I ended up just doing the MBRP axleback because I got it on sale/no shipping. It was like 480 or something. Had it installed last week. It sounds great. It is loud, that's for sure, but with the rest of the exhaust still stock, it's not too bad. It is what I was looking for - the way this car should sound.
