Questions
Ok need some of y’all’s input on a few things I have seen across several camaro sites lately.
1st. Aux radiator 2 each. I have read where some have deleted them saying they are not needed to reduce weight. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this. I would assume they play a huge part on cooling but I’m no expert.I know I have done the weapon x boost chiller and 1 is removed for the installation of this kit. 2nd. Aluminum cross brace under the car under front cradle. Some have said they removed this as well for less weight. Some say it’s a much needed brace to hold the cradle. Whats everyone’s thoughts on this one. No I don’t plan to remove mine but wanted to understand these parts roles to the car

There's no reason to remove things that engineers have put in. People making these suggestions are "no experts".

GM themselves offered the SS convertible versions without the auxiliary coolers and the new LT1 trim car also comes without the auxiliary coolers. Multiple people have pulled these out with no issues. If you’re not going to track the car on a road course, they are complete overkill.

Only going to comment on the 2nd question.
Leave the cradle in. It's there for support and for added rigidity for the car. I understand people wanting to reduce weight but you need to look at other places than items that hold the car together. |

The only reason to remove them is if you are making a drag only car, because you don't need the extra cooling. Other wise it'd be stupid to remove them.

Multiple street cars have pulled them with zero drawbacks, including members on this board. Again, if you’re not tracking on a road course, they’re overkill. No harm in leaving them in obviously, just adds weight. Everyone will have their own 2 cents of course.

LT1 cars aren’t legal at the track…? First I’ve heard of that…

Leave all the parts on your ZL1 is my advice. They are on the car for a purpose!

I guess is this was a 1/4 mile car only... go for it... but for a street car, no way. Not wise IMO. Cheaper to add power than to benefit from removing your cooling and structural components.
