Exhaust and Header Upgrade Help
So my 2013 2SS has pretty much been sitting in front of the house since the start of Covid. Im working to do a couple upgrades before the summer and need some guidance with my exhaust.
First thing on my list is a Borla 140356 ATAK cat-back system, 2inch TSP longtubes and TSP highflow cats. I’m not a huge car guy mechanic wise, most of my knowledge is derived from searching this forum. I may have gotten a little overzealous when I purchased everything and may have bought the wrong size cats as TSP had two different options for the 5th gens with longtubes . When getting the TSP headers what inch high flow cats do I need?? Also what all parts will I need to buy to have my local exhaust shop install everything without them needing to supply parts??? Below is everything I’ve purchased so far and links. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated… Thanks gang! Items Purchased So Far: Borla 140356 Atak Cat-Back Exhaust: https://www.amazon.com/Borla-140356-.../dp/B003H6R9G2 TSP 2 inch longtubes: https://www.texas-speed.com/p-17076-...e-headers.aspx TSP 3 Inch Highflow Cats (Unsure if these are correct size): https://www.texas-speed.com/p-17160-...e-headers.aspx Last edited by dretoven; 02-12-2023 at 01:42 PM. It don’t come easy.

The high flows are 3 inch on both ends. Your longtubes have 3 inch collectors so, it will work there but, your exhaust is 2.5 inch so, you’ll need 3 inch to 2.5 inch adapter for that to work.

ur gonna need a tune, oem manifold gaskets, and o2 extensions that might come with ur headers.check out some header install threads in diy section and get urself some pb blaster to spray on ur o2 sensors the night before removal.
Also think about replacing your manifold bolts....arp are the best but depending on your outlook a lot of people reuse or replace with similar oem. |

Yeah I used oem gaskets and reused my oem bolts the first few times but after reusing them for a while they get kind of worn out. If yours have never been out before I would just reuse the oem bolts but the arp ones are nice. On those cats though you probably want to use the 3" in and out in case you want to ever upgrade your exhaust to 3" and just use a 3" to 2 1/2" reducer from the cats to your borla exhaust.

don't forget to spray those sensors the night before unless u want to buy replacement (s) cuz they busted on the removal attempt.
you do know that ur car needs a tune after the install right? dyno Steve has done the majority of cars on this board and has a ton of exp plus he's got the best price on email tunes , great rep and he's a good guy. |

Also be careful around your spark plugs installing the headers. Some guys have cracked or even broke a plug or 2 by bumping them with the header flange. You might want to take them out before just to be safe. Good luck.

dretoven, where abouts in st. louis? i live out past six flags. i know a tuner with a dyno that does a fantastic job . he used to be an instructor. he taught tuners in the area. straight up dude. do the install yourself. its easy. most guys in the area are going to stick it to you if you dont watch out. pm me and i can help you out with installers the tuner would install your headers without poking you in the eyes and taking your money. hes tuned multiple cars of mine.
