Door seal question
Does anyone else's Camaro rubber door seals overtime get a white film on the surface? It seems every few months I have to wipe everything rubber on the door down. The worse ones are the rubber moldings at the front of the doors next to the side mirrors. Car is kept in a climate controlled environment year around. Any solution or tips on how to better address this by chance?

I hit them with a damp clean microfiber cloth every so often. Here's a photo of a low mileage Z's intake tube for example. So I know this isn't uncommon. Pretty sure it's referred to as rubber bloom.

I had some pretty bad hard water stains on my Z/28 window plastic trim. After trying a few different products and techniques I hit it with this stuff and the trim looks like new. You may want to give it a try. I got it at Autozone for less than $10 if I remember correctly.

I've had cars that do this and cars that didn't. I think it's a combination of factors like environment, production quality of the batch, etc. Not a huge deal - hit it with your favorite rubber protectant and move on.

I'll try a few things including the suggestions above and update down the road for those that come across the same deal.

Yea, it's just the nature of some of the rubber pieces. They tend to be a bit "dryer" than most other pieces. Once you treat them with your favorite rubber protectant a couple times to "moisten" them up, you will be fine. I also have that Mothers product Arizona posted. Works pretty well.

Not sure if this will help but in the manual it says to use Dielectric Grease for door seal maintenance. I would give that a shot and see if it help relieve the issue.

I would not use anything not designed for rubber.
