You are complicating your life unnecessarily. My Camaro sat still for 7 months. I just recharged the battery regularly. The day before yesterday I sat in it, turned the key and it started just as if I had driven it home yesterday. Don't torture it with any procedures - the LS series engines and their rotary pumps on the crankshafts flood the engine with oil immediately. These are not small blocks I. gen, where two revolutions of the crankshaft was one revolution of the pump.

I have mine on a battery tender all winter and when I start it up in the spring I use the remote start.

I can’t believe this thread is still going, there’s only 900 others in here just like it…

I have to keep mine on a tender whenever it sits for more than a few days. I read about a TSB about the on-star unit being the cause but the links and the place that did the replacement are all not valid any more. My on-star does nothing when I push the button. Wonder if there is a way I could just disconnect it to see if it stops draining the battery.

As for On Star, your car has 2G based OnStar, and that went away in January and the green ready light should now be off. If you are the original owner, you have received multiple notices on this subject and a link to the Guardian app to replace some of the functionality. |

I have the RPO list but do not see a code for OnStar.
In the USA, all Chevrolets are equipped with OnStar, regardless of trim level. Again, OnStar is 2G based on your car. Here in the USA, 2G service has ended so no more OnStar for older cars. If you are still paying for OnStar, you can switch to the Guardian App. Either way, no OnStar green light means you don't have OnStar. |

I ran a electric oil pump with in line filter from drain plug to port near alternator. Runs oil through the hole system before I start the car and to cool turbos after shut down.
