Thank you for the input - this is going to be one of the next mods I do , oh and tow hooks . Just can’t seem to find pics of how the rear tow hook is installed on the zl1 or ss - zl1 add on tow hooks .

Forgot to ask, do you want to share what or how you had to fabricate? Thanks sir.

I indirectly did something with my Camaro today: I watched as broken auxiliary gauge #2 showed up as "returned" to its scammy Ebay seller.

#3? Still fighting Paypal on that one. No update until tomorrow.

Now I'm waiting as gauge seller #4...a seller I was recommended to here...finally gets around to shipping out that one out, as they stated they would ship it out last Wednesday, and I'm still seeing zero activity on that one. Not a good sign as this company came highly recommended, and this was a first test of whether or not they're worthy of larger purchases.

Sigh.

Beginning to wonder if God really doesn't want me to sort-of monitor my voltage, engine oil pressure, and engine and transmission oil temps in this car, as I've never in my thirty-plus-year history of owning cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATV's, three wheelers, bicycles, video games, along with a 9-year-run as a car/truck repair/restoration/performance shop owner...never have I encountered such wretched hives of scum and villainy in securing a single freaking upgrade part for anything that I've owned or worked on for a customer.

Do I dare pursue securing something as simple as...replacement key fobs for this car (the keypads are destroyed on both), or just push the thing off a cliff now before I go through this all over again?

Wow! Hang in there bro. I have over the years ordered many things from "reputable" vendors on here and elsewhere, and in the time I ordered them to when they showed shipped and as I watched them nothing was updated in tracking and they just showed up on my door step. I have not, and never will order anything off ebay. I see too many people get ripped. Amazon not so much. When I want something, I usually go directly with the manufacturer and order. A bit safer that way, unless you know the vendors reputation well. Good luck.

I am terribly sorry that my suggestion doesn't appear to be working out.
Best of luck on it. Don't give up!!!

Concerning that one business, I've sent an email sort of outlining, hey, I super really want to do business with you guys, I'm sick and tired of having to freaking repeatedly bounce from business to business, and I just want one that I don't have to wonder if I'm going to be screwed by. Guys, I'm tired. I've got other projects. I have other work to do. I'd like to be able to set aside some time and finish up a book I've been writing. I have customers of my own who need my time.

Hey, is there a delay? Part not in stock? Did someone's cat eat the damn thing? Did you drive over it with a forklift? Is the shipping guy or girl out sick? Did the Germans invade Poland again? Did half the staff discover M*A*S*H and are refusing to work until they find out if Hawkeye and Hotlips get into a relationship?

This isn't even a priority part, just keep me in the freaking loop occasionally? I even told the sales guy, hey, I've just been screwed...on this same part...three times...even going so far as to ask for advice concerning something I might have been doing wrong...and everything sounded nice on both ends, hey, I got to joke around a bit, we both laughed, hey, we'll let you know if there's a problem...and...crickets...again.

I wish I could say that all my troubles are due to my being an asshole customer and I deserve being treated like poop, but the truth is that I'm also a published satire writer, and it's like I'm trapped in one of my own stories. I've never said "what the actual f***?" more times than I have in the last month concerning attempted purchases...for this one car, and this one part, which is sending me into PTSD concerning looking for the next part:

The key fobs.

I have motorcycle #86 in my garage, and cars #118, 119, and 120 in the driveway, so I've been doing this for a while...and in Costco-size numbers. I've never run into this labyrinthian level of problems in securing one freaking part. It's insane.

Given the work background that I'm in right now (I help run one business, and own another one), I am seeing business after business going out of their way to commit suicide by throwing their customers under the bus. It's...satire. And this time, I didn't write it.

There is one constant, however, in all of these businesses that are bombing themselves out of existence, and it's a specific demographic concerning the owners. And no, I won't mention what it is.

Argh.
