e85 Timing Question

New to this platform and had the car remote tuned. Car runs great but had a question on the timing.

Timing up top is hitting 31 degrees @ 6800rpm

I have had many other platforms running E and haven't had timing close to that high on them. So just wanted to check with others before putting some fun miles on the car.

If your timing on E is too high, you'll shoot past the best torque and actually lose power before detonation. I'd be more concerned what he did for timing on the pump gas timing.

Seems to be alot of timing for sure.

Usually a tuner would add timing on the ethanol content tables .Example at 60%E add 6 degrees of timing at X amount of load and RPM. Unless you don't have a flex fuel sensor.

We had tried up to 28 degrees of timing on a stock bottom end LSA with 18 psi of boost, and it wasn't making more power. We didn't care if it would break or not. Now we are at 24 peak with a forged bottom end at 22 psi on the CTS-V.

What's the ethanol table look like?
I never subscribed to the Lo table matching the High table, seemed like a recipe for trouble if you ever got into knock, but I know some do it.

I guess another important thing to know is whether you're using a flex sensor or just strictly tuned to run your own E mix.

I am thinking i will pull the base Hi and low back to around max 19 degrees to keep it around 24-25 max when it adds in the Flex timing.

I read great things about the tuner i used i just want to make sure im some what safe with the motor being SBE.
