I no longer have the stock controls but would disconnecting the fuse help those that do Mr_Draco?

I have a new Alpine head unit which looks killer and now I have Apple CarPlay and on screen navigation. Interior looks 10 years newer.

They said they have to remove the dash and windshield to access and replace the door and actuator, and it would be $2500.00 for that. They were usually reasonable before the pandemic, prices are higher now. But this seems really ridiculous. Anyone else ever have this done? They said they have had the same issue on other Camaros. I really want a/c but that price seems ridiculously high.
You could put in a heater water bypass valve instead for less than 100 dollars and control the heat that way.
