Baby cam idle

Well, I finally got a video of the car. This is not a cold start. Go to about 1:05, and you hear what it sounds like once it fully warms up. Cold start sounds cammed for about a minute, then mellows out. Final numbers 459 430 at the wheels. Runs 99% stock with drivability. 216 228 118 lobe separation 629 612

Sounds good, what's your exhaust setup?

It's actually louder than I thought it would be. To me as a car guy it does sound cammed but I think most people think it just has headers and exhaust. With a stock catback it would be a lot tamer. There is a slight lope to it but if you noticed it isn't steady, every once and a while it will give a little tiny lope from the exhaust but no chop at all in the motor.
Car does have a baby tremor(shake) like a cammed car but it is so slight again most who never owned a 5th gen would just say it sounds good and wouldn't call that a shake.

Perfect cam for anyone not wanting a heavy cammed sound car and has perfect road manners. I have a 3200 stall but you wouldn't need anything but maybe a 2400 to run this cam.
Way way tamer then a ss1 vvt I drove in.

One thing I do recommend to all if you have a stalled car. Get gears! The 3.73s make it so much better to drive! Not just performance but it doesn't take as much effort on the pedal to get to stall speed rpms and start accelerating but I do think 3.73 is the perfect gear for this car NA for all around performance. Perfect on highway cruising at 80 but let's the motor rev through the powerband much quicker. 3.45 might have been enough for a pd blower while 3.91s I think would have been harder to plant and push those highway rpms a little too much for my taste.

Like GPI said they were surprised it made such good power. When I brought the car in they said low 400s 430 tops.
Motor makes peak power around 6750 and shifts at 7k. 7200 is where the rev limiter is at.

Definitely not used to shiting at 7k if I manually shift. Several times my ears tell me to shift and I realize I am only shifting at 6500 but when I let the computer shift it goes all the way to 7k. Listening to an L99 scream to 7k is a thing of beauty. Lol

I would recommend gears to anyone with a Camaro, regardless of stall. I've got 3.91 gears on the stock converter and love them. My opinion: they are perfect for highway driving and I can pass effortlessly without downshifting out of 6th.
