I don't normally discuss this due to warranty issues and the fact that manufacturers have been known to look at these forums to screw you. Some cars have custom tunes, but I wouldn't do that because it's wrong and might void my warranty. Car is mostly stock, but my Dodge service guy knows that.

I'm really just confused as to what is best for ME here on my budget.

I get Ford X Plan pricing as well as GM supplier pricing. (both OK;d by local dealer) Here's the deal guys:

The Mustang I'm looking at fully optioned (with what I want) is only $28,768 with my X-Plan pricing. It's a GT Premium 400-A. I have NO interest in the track pack or any options aside from the SYNC, V8, Leather, upgraded stereo!

For a Camaro SS2 with GM supplier pricing I'm looking at $33,833 (as you all know). And yeah, it's a better car. But is it too good a car to compare to a Mustang GT?

Is this an unfair comparison? Should I in fact be comparing a Camaro 2LT with the Mustang GT?

I know the Mustang GT is faster, but... Is it that big a deal? Is it a HUGE cop-out to buy a Camaro with only 6 cylinders? I feel like it is... The whole point of this car is to go fast... And here I am considering the V-6 because I can get a V8 cheaper with Ford.

It seems to me that the SS2 isn't even in the same league as the Mustang GT (in a good way). But here's the deal though. I don't really want a car that extravagant that it blows other V8's out of the water. I just want something quick and fun to drive, and has the purr of a V8.

But I am loyal to Camaro and GM first and foremost so lets look at a 2LT. I can get one at partner pricing for $27,157

Lets just say a 2LT and a Mustang GT cost the same now (cause that's DAMN close boys)... What's the better car guys??? The GT and 2LT are in the same league if you ask me. What do you guys think???

One more thing... Our president was nice enough to make buying a car a tax write off. Tell me if im wrong but as far as I know you don't have to pay ANY tax on a car this year. you get it all back...

But I wont be able to buy a Camaro by Dec 31st, as the dealer wont be able to get me one by then! The Mustang GT, I could have much sooner, and thus will get my tax credit... Right? Again tell me if I'm wrong!

I'd buy an SS1, but I can't have Bluetooth, or USB. I want that. This is my 1st new car. I want fun stuff.

Buy a Challenger! Seriously, don't listen to a bunch of Camaro fans on a Camaro forum (are you serious?), go check them all out and buy what you want - don't rush it, find the one that speaks to you. If you don't, you'll be regretting it down the road.

Now, watch what happens. Time for the smack down...
I didn't see where the OP mentioned Challenger yet you feel compelled to stick that in there every chance you get. Everybody here is just overjoyed at the fact that you bought that Challenger and you love it To start off your post with "Dude, you want a REAL muscle car?" is just plain mullet style thinking. I don't care what the mags say about your car in the way of performance. I also know I don't get concerned about getting beaten by one but I won't throw that in your face every chance I get. You tried to entice someone into saying something and you got what you wanted.

You got something against mullets? Your sensitivity is getting the best of you, pretty soon, all your posts will be in bold.

Relax man, I'm just kidding. Only expressing an opinion here, just like everyone else, you know - expanding consciousness. Don't have a cow. Now let's sing Kum-Bi-Yah (or cumbayah if you prefer).

Man 2SS, what's your deal with the all the Stang hate?

The OP said he was considering a Stang or Camaro. Yet you have to say he should go for a Camaro or Challenger.

And I love how you say that Stangs aren't really that special unless you put some serious money in them, right after you said his wife's tuned Stang may well beat his modded Challenger!

Guys/Gals, for the love of God, chill out. Obviously some of you get me, some don't. I gave up trying to be too serious on these forums a long time ago. This is your forum, I'm a visitor (as I am not a current Camaro owner). Just trying to help this young man out and explore all options. It doesn't have to be a "who has the biggest wiener contest", however, for those of you who believe all the muscle car rags that say the Challenger is a dog, as an owner, I will throw the BS flag. I own one and I know what it will do. I know everybody loves their cars but anything is possible with any car.

With that said, who's next?

No not really.

Its really a inside joke. There was a discussion elsewhere about it, and the owner claimed there were none. Of course others came in to defend it and said the same thing, so it was said that NO CAMARO owner would ever admit to it.

Thus my comment. As I said, you had to be there.

I just got denied a test Drive of a Camaro SS... Any thoughts? I wanted to make my decision as to whether or not the Camaro was worth waiting for based on a test drive... That's logical right?

I drove a mustang and have only positive things to say about it. I'm hoping I enjoy driving the SS more. This way I can say I spent more on a Camaro because it drives better!

Do I have to put my check book on the table to test drive a Camaro?

Ran into the same thing when looking at SRT's. Raised hell and the manager relented. Bought the RT instead. I can turn a RT into a SRT for less than $8000.
You can rent one, might be better. One of the rental car company's has them, don't know which one.

Raising hell sounds cheaper. Even if the salesman has to drive it, that's fine.
