Debating swapping my HF cats for no cats
Been thinking about this, but not sure. I have some straight pipes just lying around that I had on the car briefly in the past. I have a SOLO exhaust, which can be loud, but not super loud at idle. I wouldn't mind more volume. Also have LT headers, cam, blower, etc. Making about 600 rwhp. I've had the HF cats on for a while, so not sure what condition they're in on the inside.
I live in OH and have Collector's plates, so no e-check needed, ever. I barely drive the car, so not really worried about noise on long trips or anything like that. Basically, just want it to sound as bad ass as possible. *edit* Actually, I don't have the catless midpipes anymore. I guess I'd have to buy some. If I decide to, what are the best options? I have Dynatech LT headers, so not sure if I should stick with the Dynatech brand. I want something I can just bolt on.

Run it. Besides the smell, and possibly making your exhaust sound raspy, other than that no other downside.

Should I get the Dynatech tubes to match my headers? They make a pretty nice kit, but not sure if there are other options.

There's TSp faux cats. No idea if they'll fit.

I hadn't heard of Dynatech stuff before so I did a search on it and they look like they make pretty good stuff. At first I thought you were referring to Dynomax and I really like their stuff. Are your headers a slip fit connection?

I have seen these. But I'm not completely sure they are 3". I'm just assuming that you have a 3" exhaust.

These are the pipes that fit with my headers (2.5"). Unfortunately, it looks like they have been discontinued, and no one seems to have them in stock. I emailed Dynatech to see what they say. Originally, I put their high flow cats on when I got their headers. Later on, they came out with powermaxx cats, which are supposed to be for supercharged cars, and that's what I have on there now.
https://prankster87.com/product/non-...-10-14-camaro/ I actually still have the original high flow cats, and I supposed I could gut those, and put 'em back on, but not sure how much of a pain that is.

Lot of manufacturers stopped making the catless "off-road" pipes because the EPA started crawling up their backside.

You could use something like this with your old connector flanges and a little extension pipe. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-21115

Yeah, I did confirm with Dynatech that they are discontinued. I'm sure I could get a shop to fit some straight pipes in there, but I will probably just leave well enough alone.

Your sig states Magnuson so what psi are you running? If over 8 psi any cat is at risk of blow-out which could lodge downstream, inadvertently shut-off your exhaust flow, and cause nasty things to happen. I would just gut the cats and keep on rolling.

This probably won't help you, but at least it's info.
I went catless when I installed the Speed Engineering headers with their offroad pipe. I have NPP exhaust and almost never run it open because at WOT it's really raspy and obnoxiously loud. Headers, no cats and a muffler is just right for me. I get tired of the exhaust smell constantly. The only thing that seems to really help that is running E85.
