Getting Code P0630

On my code reader it says voltage high along with this code

In the code thread it says P0630 VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch - ECM/PCM

My car starts and runs fine but it throws this code once in while.

The battery is new and fully charged and this started right after I replaced the original battery last fall.

I was willing to live with this but now I can't as it will not allow me to program my new key fobs.

Every time I try to program the new ones I get this code which used to be intermittent and is now increasing in frequency.

I have the broken buttons problem on my originals but they still work to open and lock the doors.

My remote start button is the one thats broken on both and the lock button on one as well.

I read there is a limit(5) to how many keys/fobs can be programmed.

My originals were the switch blades and I got one done under the recall and told them I only had one and they cut me 2 keys

So I guess that would be 4 unless the previous owner(2010 to 13) had one done.

Do I need a new PCM?

I dread going to the dealer(our local one is quite good though) and they would probably be most qualified to deal with both issues.

I ordered a reman PCM that comes loaded with a tune.

I will post up how it works out and whether I can reprogram my fobs with this one.

Every time I try I get that stupid P0630 code so I have been using my old fobs with missing remote start button to open the doors and the new ones are just for show

You might be able to swap the guts from your old one into the new one, if they are the same style. I did it on mine.

Thanks GT they are identical to my factory ones and even have the switch blade (which is a blank key)
