Automatic trunk opener

Does anyone have this installed on their Camaro or know someone that did? Looks pretty cool but wondering on the longevity of it.

Just realized the link I provided did not provide an actual video of this in motion. Here you go...

Just appears as if they're stronger lift cylinders than stock? Or am I missing something? Not a wallet breaker, but I guess I'm not seeing the draw for needing it. And if it is just cylinders, eventually they'll wear out.

I kinda like the idea of having the trunk simply pop loose and allow me to open it all the way when I'm ready.

Feel the same. Although, occasionally, I’ll bump the fob unknowingly, and find out when getting in the car that the trunk is open. Annoying but, no biggie. Certainly not worth different cylinders, imho.

This happens to me all the time, except the car will only tell me when I start moving, so at this point I just try and drive faster hoping the down force on the spoiler shuts it enough to not fly open.

As one stated, the trunk can accidently open itself via the fob once in awhile and it can be a nuisance. Especially when not finding out until one starts driving. If the trunk opens, and opens all the way, I like knowing so before I get in the car.

Like others have said, my fob opens the trunk, accidentally, all too often, when I'm in the house. This isn't a problem when I'm home. When I'm at work, or out somewhere else, This could be expensive if there was something valuable in the trunk.
