J-PIPES
The drone in my car is now def gettin to me now and plus my 2yr daughter keeps covering her ears when shes with me and I can see shes not comfortable. I have a 2015 v6 camaro runnin the "MRT v1 axle back only".. If anyone can tell me where I can get some j pipes for it? Or if someone has had one put on, on this particular muffler? I asked a couple local muffler shops around my area. But it definitely seems like they don't have a lot of knowledge about j pipes. Anyways, I don't know if I'm just getting older, Or I'm just losing interest or just being a dad now lol, I'm almost thinking about putting my stock mufflers back on, but I dont want all that extra weight, and looks ugly lol! Or maybe going with another brand thats quiet, or maybe even throwing the stock dual tip GM mufflers that the 15 ss come with.I dont mind hearing more of my intake than my exhaust at this point lol...
....Any input will help about the J pipes and mufflers, Thanks! |

They sold me just the J pipes for my old SS and I had a local muffler shop install them.

Me, I would put the factory mufflers on and save the 300 or 400 bucks. Maybe even more nowadays?
The factory mufflers do what the J pipe does but better since they were engineered to make 217 cubic inches of raging squirrel power stop sounding like crap.

I agree here. Those stock mufflers don't weight that much. If you are concerned about "ugly", you could do like one of my Camaro buds did and paint them matte black with high heat paint. Then they would blend in to the rear fascia and the under carriage.

Just had J pipes installed on my ‘10 LS-3. Had bad drone from 1,900-2,100. Seemed like I was always around that rpm range. Took off the Flow Master Outlaws for Flow F/X. Slightly quieter overall and I liked the sound better but drone still there. Now with the J pipes drone is gone without affecting the tone. Paid $300 for the pipes and found a shop to install them with a cost of 1 hr labor. I am so glad I finally bought these. Steve from Solo is awesome, very helpful and a great guy. Everyone on the forum suggested getting these to correct the issue. Should have done it a year ago. Thanks Solo for a great product.

Never had any drone since. I took delivery exactly 14 years ago today.
