About 1.5 million deer-vehicle collisions happen each year in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Those accidents cause about 150 deaths and $1.1 billion in property damage annually!

Fear

This is my ultimate fear. I travel on RT 55 all to and from work and this is a dark (no street lights RD) and at 4PM it is like midnight and i always see deer on the side of the road dead. I just hope i never hit one because i would be doing 70+ and have contemplated flooring it instead of braking if one jumped out.

Glad you are ok.

sorry to hear that, glad you are okay. The more that people expand their living areas the less space the deer have..so its bound to happen

That's terrible! A new Camaro that had hit a deer was in the body shop at the dealership when I picked mine up. The deer flew over the car on that one too and managed to mangle both ends. I live in Deerville, USA and have hit, or have been hit rather by 11 to date, mostly in a full size Chevy pickup. :(

Wow, that 'hurts my heart' to see your poor Camaro, and think about that poor, scared, deer...
Glad you are ok, and the Camaro can be fixed...
The more land that is developed, the less room the animals have to live...such a shame...
It is a danger to man, and animals too.................

There are no words to describe how much that must suck. Could have been worse though, you weren't injured.

Glad you are ok.
Mythbusters did a test on a Moose...it was best to slam on brakes rather than going faster. Granted, that was on a Moose, but I'm just sayin..

My uncle hit a fawn(within 1/2 mile of his home) in his Fiero going 60. Managed to total the front end, he's in the process of replacing it..lol

My brother-in-law had a deer hit his 02 Trans-Am. He was sitting still at a red light at the time. The deer ran out from a Best Buy parking lot in Pittsburgh and right into the side of his STOPPED car. Left a nice dent and then just ran off on the other side of the road? Maybe he shoplifted something from the store and was running away from security?????
Dumb animals.....
