He's talking about the LT through SS "regular Camaros" that will be Panther Black Metallic and not the ZL1. The ZL1 is not tricoat but rather a Satin matte.

Someone in the other thread mentioned that technically the 2024 start date is next week, I don’t know enough about manufacturing but could be just a press or show car?

This. If you want a collectors edition and you plan to drive it, it won’t be a collectors piece anymore. So just paint yours and buy the panther emblems that GM decided never to use till now and call it a collectors edition. If your not putting it in a museum, nobody will fact check your vin number. Besides, what kinda tool will try to make you feel bad for owning an aftermarket collectors edition. I might sport the panther fender emblems because they look cool.

I’ll bet it has a special preproduction VIN that means it can never be sold to a consumer. More likely, the quality control team will check the fit and finish and then assign it to press or show car duty - unless they use it for component testing, in which case it eventually end up being crushed.
