Question Stance

My guess is that if a similar tire setup was attempted on a 5th generation to achieve the same stance, it would throw all sorts of codes, right?

Dunno, but damn, I always loved that stance. Fat boys in the back and cookie cutters on the front.

Different tire OD's will most likely drive the ABS crazy. You could go big and littles with the same OD by using smaller diameter wheel in the back and larger in the front. Like a drag pack setup.

I'd like to see an 'AI' mock up of a 5th gen with that stance. In my mind's eye, I think it would look funny. Hmm, funny, car...concept!

Damn, that 69 looks kinda familular to what mine looked like back in the day! But yea, that difference from front to back would most likely mess with the ABS system. I have found that you can go as much as an inch difference front to back before messing with the ABS. I did it at one time on my 5th gen.

As long as the tire diameter between the front and rear are no more than 3-5% difference you're good.

Ok, sorry, it's not a Camaro. I had a 64 Falcon identical to this down to the Cragar rims. Loved that Cragar stance on any car.

Auto

I wanted a stick, but it was Black Friday weekend of 2015. 5th generation production was done and selection in the PNW was limited. I drove 3 hours in fog and snow and literally bought it off of the showroom floor.

Yours?

Manual. I have spent the better part of a year since I bought mine, trying to document the MT population of these SS/RS CE verts. I've found 5 so far, between the US and Canada and of those 5, only 2 have the factory-badged, short throw shifter, mine is one of them. The other is in Canada.

And guess where I found it? Up there in Eugene. I was laying in ICU in the hospital scrolling through cars on my phone when I spotted it. Bought it over the phone from the hospital bed, bought my daughter a plane ticket and she flew up and drove it back here. (We're from the area up there.)

It was a one-owner. The guy who owned it kept it stored in an airplane hangar at the Eugene airport and would fly up from California and use it to visit his multiple Taco Bell franchises in Oregon. It has 56K miles on it.
