Magnaflow resonated x pipe

I was looking to quiet down my cammed camaro a bit. Its just a little too much for the neighbors. Current set up is LT headers no cats, Corsa exhaust. I was looking at getting the magnaflow resonated X-pipe to add to it . Was wondering if anyone has used it or what have y'all used to tone down y'all cammed Camaros?

I was never successful trying to quiet my exhaust using ad-dons. I have tried using that resonator and thought there was no change. I tried everything including adding 100 cell cats. I finally cut open the Corsa mufflers which were nothing more than straight through pipes with a couple of openings into the empty can. I replaced the internal pipe with a perforated pipe and filled the internal void with muffler packing. I then welded the shell back together. Now I have a manageable exhaust sound. Still has some sound but a deep throaty sound and not super loud. I like it much better.

Resonator is not going to do much for volume. You are going to need mufflers to achieve your goal.

Resonator will change the tone but won't affect the volume. If it's too loud you''l need to change the axle back to something else.

I have the magnaflow resonated x pipe and a J pipe axle back. The magnaflow toned it down. Sounds very tamed until 3300+ it opens up and screams when you want it to. It’s still loud but no complaints from the neighbors. Tons of compliments. My next door neighbor is a retired police officer

This is the quietist one I know of. https://www.borla.com/products/chevr...system-1014035 but you could probably just buy the muffles and take them to your local exhaust shop and have them installed for the cheaper.

Yep, that's the quietest system out there. If you look at the very front of the system where it connects to the pipes after the bend, you will see that it has a "mid muffler" in the system along with the rear mufflers. That's what makes it so quiet.

I know it's an older thread, but didn't see the point in starting a new one. How well do you all think the Magnaflow resonated X will hold up to about 11 pounds of boost?
I'd like to quite things down a bit with my cam, headers, no cats, and stock npp cat-back exhaust.

I would be worried it would be a bit restrictive for your setup, but I could be wrong.

I absolutely love the sound of my Corsa Xtreme, but sometimes I wish I could just quiet the car down a little bit. My neighbors have never complained, but I drive the car different now because of the volume. I rarely start it after dark anymore. Also, I don't get on it in public much because it is a freaking cop magnet. I would love to keep the Corsa but somehow modify it with some sort of valved/muffled section, but there isn't much room for that under our cars.

I actually got pulled over by a state trooper in Spring Hill for a loud exhaust a couple years back, which blew my mind. He tried telling me he could cite me for an illegally modified exhaust. You know some of the cars driving around here are substantially louder than mine, especially some of those newer Coyote Mustangs.

Yep, I'm in the same boat as you, I love my Corsa, but want to knock it down a tad. And I drive like you now so I don't attract any unwanted attention when I'm out. I did have the Magnaflow mid muffler in there at one time when I was straight piped, it knocked it down pretty good, but it still sounded great, then I bought a Dronemaster quad tip ZL1 catback, that didn't last long as the drone was very bad, then I got the Corsa, and now I need to quiet it down some. Was looking at this mid muffler/xpipe. The only thing is it is 5 inches longer than the Magnaflow. A tad wider and taller.

Wow I didn't know we could get stopped for a loud exhaust. I'm the same way when it's past a certain hour I won't start the car. Just out of respect for the people around me and I've got small children I don't want to wake up.
I've got the npp setup to close the valves with a switch. It helps a little bit to keep things quiet, but I was hoping for something else to knock the tone down just a bit more. My high flow cats helped, but I took them off because I was worried about them potentially getting clogged due to boost.
Maybe I can try some of those cats that are supposed to be boost friendly, but they are pricey. I guess I'll try and search around the ZL1 section and see what guys are doing.
