2011 Camaro SS - TSP 427 Initial start up stock ECU tune
I have a built TSP 427 reseleeve I'm about to install in a couple weeks and trying to figure out a good way to go about doing the initial startup/break-in.
I'm wondering if I could do the initial startup heat cycle on the stock ECU, change the oil, trailer it then get a break in tune to do a 500 mile break in. (This is assuming it will start and run with the stock tune.) Or do I need to just install the engine, trailer it, take it to the speed shop for the break in tune and do the initial start up/head cycle. I would assume the initial startup would be fine with the stock ECU but figured I would get advice from you guys, notably if others have done this before. Engine is a TSP 427 resleeve Cam card s attached Everything else is factory as of now. (i.e. injectors, throttle body ect will be stock.) |

Just in case anyone runs across this thread with the same question... Yes, the car will start up and run fine. Did initial heat cycle break in with factory tune, changed oil, loaded on trailer and took it to get tuned.

TSP 427
Was your TSP 427 The Executioner? If it is how has it been holding up?

It was a custom build. Block is essentially darton sleeved 4.125" bore and 4.000" stroke. Custom grind cam, PRC 260CC heads, 1/2 head studs and forged rotating assembly. Built to take 1200+ crank HP with boost. But holding up great, haven't put boost on it yet or had a dyno tune as I got busy and had to put it on the back burner.
Waiting on new injectors to come in then off to dyno tune. |

Hi Kenny,
I am looking at doing a very similar 427 engine with TSP. I was just told by someone that if I run this setup I will not pass emissions. Did you have emissions done on your car, and passed? |
