Glad to see there are others who are tired of putting sub standard Chinese made junk in their cars or anywhere else for that matter. Like someone else said, youre paying the same price as if it were made in the USA... or damn close. It pays to do your research and seek out goods made in the USA and choose those instead. Im a service writer for a busy independant shop and multiple times a week we get defective parts right out of the box, all made in China crap!

I get the whole Chinese thing. I wish there was more production and manufacturing in the US, but let's be honest, most of the herd isn't willing to pay what it would cost for American made when they can go to amazon and buy it and get it next day. That's why I try to support my local brick and mortars when I can, even if it cost a little bit more.

And in this day in age, it's near impossible to buy a product that is free and clear if China. Maybe your product was assembled in the US, but materials and sub-components are soften sourced from China.

Sad but true, UNIONS destroy everything. I get it it's good for the Worker but not if the Economy is suffering under it.

Do what I did. Remove it. Clean it up. Take it back. Inform them that the reason you're bringing it back is because it is made in China. I was prepared for an argument but the gal at Napa completely understood and agreed with my philosophy. She even lectured one of her young coworkers who was obviously oblivious to free and fair trade policies. If they don't take it back you can go into a 5 minute long obscenity laced tirade that would make Sam Kinison proud. LOL! At least you'll feel better.

Well guys, did some more research last night and came upon this tidbit of info, looks like most of our batteries are made in "other" countries except for a few that are made in the US! Dang. I did not know that. But it fits the way things are going in our world now. So I guess I'm just going to install it, and just live with it since it does have a 3-4 year replacement warranty on it. Thanks guys for all your input on this deal, I really appreciate it. Here's the link..

I will likely spend more money if it means it was build here in the US, if the quality is there.
That said, I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon and encountered a lot of fake stuff, just one example, I bought an EOTech XPS2 Holographic for $625, they send me one looking exactly like the original even with the correct barcode sticker underneath it, after sighting it in I realize the reticle switched to green after one button push...I thought what the hell?
Send it straight back. it pays to be on Prime and buy Prime only stuff.

This is why I firmly believe that it's frequently better to buy gently used OEM parts made in Canada, Germany or even Mexico than Chinese junk.

Tools have gone the same way. I've been invested in DeWalt since they went 20v. It was between them and Milwaukee, but I was afraid Milwaukee would go 20v right after I bought a new set. Where was my crystal ball on that one? Now DeWalt tools are getting worse and worse and I have over a dozen of the things plus another dozen batteries. To make matters worse, everybody is counterfeiting them so even when you think you are buying genuine Dewalt, you might not be.

I bought a Tial wastegate the other day and it turned out to be counterfeit. Sent that back and got a Turbosmart from a vendor. I'm seeing a lot of made in Taiwan Matco and even Mac stuff too. I've been upgrading the tool box for the last six months and I've mostly been buying vintage Snap On and Mac made in USA. It's only going to get more difficult from here, but I refuse to pay made in USA prices for Taiwan stuff.

Yes Sir, I went all Milwaukee years ago and even there you will catch counterfeit items, but for less of the price of course, you have to inspect all the little details which is cray imo.
But like you said it will get worse.

I'm fairly positive that I still have the factory battery in my car. Dreading the eventual fact that my battery will go bad eventually and have to be replaced.
