Heck yes !

You only have so many years to live and every drive in my current camaro is a little adventure.

I want to enjoy every minute of owning the SS.

Only time it will probably stay home is in event of dreaded NC ice storms which are simply a nightmare

I don't have room for another car, I will drive it in the winter with Blizzak LM-25 dedicated snow tires here in northern IL. I only work 14 days a month and work is only 2.2 miles away. Thats 62 miles a month to work and back home. So I will drive it seldomly from Dec to March. Then put the 20's back on and pile up the mileage.

No way , this car will be the fair weather, cruising, special vehicle, and parked in the winter. Not to say it couldn't do it, but salt and junk from winter destroys cars here in NY. Not uncommon to see 2-3 yr old cars with huge rust holes .. My 06 Vue has the start of some on the tailgate . My 91 V-8 was a year round car and never let me down , always got me out and about no matter the weather, but I'm in a different economic situation now and can afford a toy for myself. Keeping the Vue as daily driver, boat tow vehice and family transport if the wife needs me to take the kids.

Daily driver. UNTIL I trade it in on a Zxx.

All gentle highway miles, by a little-old blue-haired lady, of course. Must see!

(ahem).

It'll be a daily driver with the exception of winter. Only gonna drive it on the best winter days. I don't need to get in an accident with it.

It will be plated 3 months of the year, maybe a little longer. At it will only be driven on gorgeous days, on good roads. Other than joy riding, i will be driving my truck. going to try to keep low kms every year.

My first brand new car was a '98 Mustang GT ragtop. I had dreamed of getting it forever, and drove an old Nissan for years while I finished school & saved. Never had a mishap with the Nissan in ~5 years of ownership, but of course I wound up t-boning a guy in an old Buick Roadmaster making an illegal turn. I may as well have ran my brand new car into a brick wall. It was the first day of spring and the top was down. The car was 3 months old and had 5,000 miles on the clock. $10,000 in damage was still not enough to total what was still basically a new car. I got some reimbursement for depreciated value, but that doesn't help much when you're staring at another 45 payments for a wrecked car whose resale value has gone straight down the toilet. The car looked & well enough after being repaired but was plagued by leaking a-pillars from then on out. I kept it another few years until I got fed up with wet seats & carpet, then bit the bullet and took a big loss getting rid of it.

Never again will I own a nice, new car that is my only transportation. My 2010 will be a garaged weekend car driven occasionally to work, probably no more than one day a week. If it ever sees a drop of rain it will be by accident. The 2001 still runs great with 115k on the clock. It will take the abuse from the daily grind, errand running in stop & go traffic, and door dings from fat assholes in SUVs at the grocery store. I can never be 100% sure something like that won't ever happen again but I'll do everything I can to minimize the chance. I will never forget sitting on the curb looking at what was my pride & joy an hour earlier, listening to the sickening scraping sounds as it was being literally dragged up onto a flatbed in in absolute ruin, pieces lying everywhere. I take great solace in the fact that I walked away from a ~45mph impact with nothing but a quarter-sized powder burn on my arm from the airbag, but it wasn't much comfort at the time.

i plan on trading in my current ride for a v8 camaro ss/rs, so it's going to be my daily ride. one question though on the salesperson guide it says to use premium for the v8 camaro, do you think you can get by with regular?
